Establishment of the Population Sub-Department of Lam Dong Province

The People's Committee of Lam Dong province has just issued a decision to establish the Lam Dong Provincial Population Sub-Department based on the merger of the Population Department under the Dak Nong Provincial Department of Health, the population section under the Population and Social Work Department under the Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Health, and the Lam Dong Provincial Population Sub-Department.

The Population Sub-Department is an organization directly under the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health , with the function of advising and assisting the Department of Health in the state management of population affairs, including the following areas: population size, population structure, population quality, family planning, and elderly care in the community; directing and organizing the implementation of professional and technical activities related to population in the province.

The Lam Dong Provincial Population Department has legal personality, its own office, seal, and bank account.

The new Lam Dong Provincial Population Department will take over all personnel, finances, assets, equipment, documents, and records; all functions and duties of the Population Department under the Dak Nong Provincial Department of Health, the population section under the Population and Social Work Department under the Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Health, and the Lam Dong Provincial Population Department; arrange and assign civil servants and labor resources of the new Lam Dong Provincial Population Department according to the delegated authority; continue to manage and use finances, assets, documents, and records according to regulations; and continue to implement tasks in accordance with current regulations.

The People's Committee of Lam Dong province assigns the Director of the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to direct the transfer, acceptance, and management of assets, facilities, equipment, finances, records, and related documents to ensure the continuous and uninterrupted operation of the Sub-Department. The Director is also responsible for arranging and assigning management staff, civil servants, and employees of the Lam Dong Provincial Population Sub-Department in accordance with the law. Furthermore, the Director directs the Lam Dong Provincial Population Sub-Department to follow the procedures to request the competent authority to address issues related to the unit, specifically regarding its functions, duties, powers, organizational structure; financial autonomy mechanism; job positions; and to complete this process before July 30, 2025.
