On the afternoon of May 11th, the Hai Phong City Federation of Labor announced the decision to establish the grassroots trade union at Vietnam Innova Co., Ltd. (VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park).
Vietnam Innova Co., Ltd. is a wholly Taiwanese-owned company operating in the field of shoe design research and development. The company was established in March 2026 with 107 employees, including 81 female employees.
The company's employees wish to establish a trade union to represent and protect their legitimate rights and interests.
With the support of the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee and the City Federation of Labor, in April 2026, the Company's Trade Union Establishment Steering Committee was formed. They organized awareness campaigns to help workers understand their rights and responsibilities as union members and the role of the Trade Union within the enterprise. As a result, 100% of the workers submitted applications to join the Trade Union.
At the conference, representatives from the Industrial Zone Trade Union presented the decision of the City Federation of Labor regarding the establishment of the Vietnam Innova Company Limited Trade Union; admitted 107 union members; recognized the Company's Trade Union Executive Committee consisting of 3 members; and the Company's Trade Union Inspection Committee consisting of 3 members.
Representatives from the Industrial Zone Trade Union Committee of the City Federation of Labor suggested that, after its establishment, the company's Trade Union Executive Committee should focus on developing a collective labor agreement with terms more favorable to workers than those stipulated by law; and organize negotiations on wages, bonuses, and welfare benefits for union members and workers.

During Workers' Month 2026, the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee aims to establish 15 grassroots trade unions and recruit 10,000 new members.
