In 2024, Thanh Mien district has Le Hong and Doan Tung communes registered to reach the advanced new rural area goal and Chi Lang Nam commune registered to reach the model new rural area goal. To help these localities speed up the progress, the district will support each commune reaching the advanced new rural area goal with 5 billion VND, and each model new rural area goal with 3 billion VND. The above amount is taken from the district budget, with priority given to supporting localities that have registered to reach the goal but lack capital to complete the criteria.

Thanh Mien district has 17 communes and towns, but only Chi Lang Nam commune has reached the advanced new rural area standard.
