A commune in Thanh Mien named after the late Vice President Nguyen Luong Bang

The plan for arranging administrative units at the commune level in Thanh Mien district was put out for voters' opinions on April 20.

Specifically, Thanh Mien 1 commune was changed to Thanh Mien commune, Thanh Mien 2 commune to Bac Thanh Mien commune, Thanh Mien 3 commune to Hai Hung commune, Thanh Mien 4 commune to Nguyen Luong Bang commune, Thanh Mien 5 commune to Nam Thanh Mien commune.

Compared to the previous plan, Nguyen Luong Bang commune will include Doan Tung, Thanh Tung and Nhan Quyen communes (Binh Giang), reducing 1 commune, Co Bi (in the same district of Binh Giang). Other units remain unchanged.

The new commune names are based on the geographical location, history of formation and development of Thanh Mien district. In addition, they are also associated with some historical figures who are the children of the homeland and have made great contributions to the country.

Thanh Mien is understood as a peaceful land with hard-working, diligent and industrious people. Keeping the name Thanh Mien is to show pride in the historical tradition of this ancient land.

Nguyen Luong Bang Commune was named after the late Vice President Nguyen Luong Bang, a son of Dong village, Thanh Tung commune. He was a staunch revolutionary activist and an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh . Naming the commune Nguyen Luong Bang aims to continue to preserve historical values ​​and foster the spirit and patriotism of future generations.

Hai Hung commune was established on the basis of merging Doan Ket, Tan Trao and Ngo Quyen communes. These are localities adjacent to Hung Yen province. The name Hai Hung is to recall the period when Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces merged, showing solidarity and development.

Previously, the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units was unanimously approved by the majority of voters of Thanh Mien district, including: Thanh Mien 1, Thanh Mien 2, Thanh Mien 3, Thanh Mien 4 and Thanh Mien 5.
