The program demonstrates the desire for connection, solidarity and development of the young generation of Vietnamese people around the world.
At the exchange, the children sang together, read poems, acted out plays, shared their feelings... in the beloved Vietnamese language - the language of family, of memories and also the source of national culture.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Mai, Vice Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and Head of the 2025 Vietnam Summer Camp, said that Vietnamese language exchange is a special highlight of this year's Summer Camp. Overseas Vietnamese youth demonstrated their ability to use Vietnamese through storytelling, poetry reading, folk song singing and presentations about their feelings when returning to their homeland. These activities not only help them practice their language, but also arouse their love for their mother tongue and national culture.
“For many children, Vietnamese is their second language, even if they are just starting to learn it, but I believe that if their hearts love Vietnamese, even if they cannot speak it fluently, their feelings will still be complete,” Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Mai emphasized.

Tran Mai Chi, a Vietnamese expatriate in Germany, said that when she lived in Germany, she only learned and spoke Vietnamese with her parents, so her knowledge and vocabulary were not many. However, when she participated in the summer camp, she had the opportunity to visit many provinces and cities, interact with Vietnamese friends from different countries, thanks to which she gained more vocabulary, and understood more about Vietnamese culture and history. Tran Mai Chi believes that after this Vietnamese language exchange, she will be able to speak Vietnamese better and understand more about Vietnamese culture.
Also at the program, overseas students had performances such as: Continue writing the story of peace ; Go forward Vietnam; Vietnamese spirit; Return to Nghe An with you and exchanges between Summer Camp delegates and Nghe An province youth...
Before that, the delegation visited the Kim Lien National Special Historical Relic Site, visited the paternal and maternal hometowns of President Ho Chi Minh , many young people were deeply moved by the simplicity and rusticity of a great personality.
Over the years, the overseas Vietnamese community, with its constant efforts, has been gradually preserving and reviving the Vietnamese language in foreign lands. Teachers, associations, and parents have organized hundreds of Vietnamese language classes, taught online, organized competitions, exchanges, and performed folk art...
The Party and Government have always identified this as an important task and have proposed many policies to preserve and promote the national cultural identity and Vietnamese language in the community.
In August 2022, the Prime Minister approved the Project on Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Vietnamese Community Abroad for the period 2022-2030. The Project has received positive responses, with many exciting, diverse and practical activities, initially creating a strong change in the movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese in the Vietnamese community abroad./.
