Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy performed the launching ceremony of the Youth Volunteer Team participating in supporting the operation of two-level local governments and providing online public services at the grassroots level, on the morning of July 7.

On the very first day, more than 4,800 teams with nearly 241,400 union members and youths simultaneously took part in 3,321 communes, wards and special zones nationwide. At the same time, 728 “Green Summer” volunteer student teams from 286 universities and colleges were also present in the localities.

In particular, the Central Youth Union clearly identified priority resources for 286 communes, wards and special zones associated with the border. Currently, provinces and cities have reviewed actual needs to establish youth volunteer teams to support the operation of the new model in border localities.

The central-level launching ceremony was held at the Cau Giay Ward Public Administration Service Center ( Hanoi City), with the participation of leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The program connected online with 8 connecting points in: Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, An Giang, Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, youth volunteer teams deployed direct support activities at public administrative centers and one-stop shops in communes, wards and residential areas. In Hanoi, in addition to guiding people on how to use online public services, the teams also organized digital skills training classes for youth across the city.

The activities of the teams are divided into three main groups. The first group supports civil servants in performing administrative tasks such as: editing electronic population records, entering data into the system, arranging records, and providing instructions on using public administration management software.

The second group helps people and businesses access online public services such as: submitting electronic documents, looking up results, registering for electronic identification accounts, making cashless payments...

The third group focuses on popularizing digital skills through direct classes and many creative forms of communication such as: "Digital literacy for the masses" and "Community digital technology group". The program will run until the end of August 2025.

Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet said that with the motto "Understanding the area - Solid technology - Dedicated support - Effective dissemination", the youth volunteer teams are expected to become "community digital engineers" accompanying the government and people at the grassroots level in the digital transformation process, contributing to building a modern, transparent and effective administration.
