City: Total production value in 2023 reached 7.2%

On the afternoon of November 29th, the People's Committee of Thai Binh City held a meeting to hear reports on the results of implementing socio -economic development tasks in 2023; and the goals, tasks, and solutions for 2024.

Comrade Dinh Gia Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of the city, delivered a speech at the meeting.

In 2023, despite many challenges, the city's socio-economic situation recovered and grew significantly, with 14 out of 21 targets met or exceeded. Total production value was estimated at nearly 52,660 billion VND, an increase of 7.2% compared to the same period, accounting for nearly 25% of the province's total production value. The investment and business environment continued to improve, ranking first in the competitiveness index among districts and cities for the second consecutive year. Total state budget revenue in the area was estimated at over 2,950 billion VND, reaching 104.6% of the projected target and 108.8% compared to the same period. Planning, investment procedures, and construction progress of projects were accelerated. Many important constructions and projects have been completed and put into use, such as Ky Ba Park, Ty Ruou Lake, Ngo Quyen Street, etc. Cultural and social fields have achieved comprehensive results, and national security and defense have been maintained.

In 2024, the city strives to achieve a total production value growth rate of 9.5% or higher; a budget revenue growth rate of 12%; total social investment exceeding 16,200 billion VND; an urbanization rate of 80.28%; an average per capita income of 85 million VND/person/year; and complete the criteria for proposing the upgrading of 8 communes to wards....

To achieve the above objectives, the City People's Committee focuses on attracting investment and mobilizing resources for economic and urban development. Emphasis is placed on removing obstacles and difficulties, promoting administrative reform and digital transformation. The completion of key economic and social infrastructure projects is being accelerated. Comprehensive development in cultural and social fields is being pursued; and activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the town's liberation, the 20th anniversary of the city's establishment, and other important holidays and anniversaries throughout the year are being well organized.
