The team of young doctors in Lao Cai province is affirming its pioneering role day by day with a sense of responsibility, knowledge, and a desire to contribute. Instead of choosing more favorable environments, many young doctors have returned to work in their localities, bringing with them a solid foundation of training and a desire to contribute to improving the quality of medical care for the people.
One of the outstanding figures is Dr. Vu Duy Tan - Deputy Head of the Training and Guidance Department, Department of Surgery, Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 1. Graduating as a resident physician specializing in Surgery from Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2019, Dr. Tan returned to work at the provincial hospital with the desire to use his specialized knowledge to serve his hometown. Dr. Tan shared: “From the very beginning of my work, my colleagues and I have always received attention and support from the Hospital's Board of Directors in training, updating our expertise, and implementing new techniques.”

Constantly striving to improve his skills, Dr. Tan has participated in training and knowledge updates at central-level hospitals such as Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. The support of leading experts has helped the Surgical Department team gradually master many difficult techniques and effectively implement modern treatment methods right at the provincial level.
Each year, the hospital's Surgery Department implements 2-3 new techniques, contributing to improved treatment quality, reducing the burden on higher-level hospitals, and saving costs for patients. This year alone, Dr. Tan and his colleagues have significantly improved the use of laser prostatectomy and flexible endoscopic lithotripsy – modern, minimally invasive methods that help patients recover quickly and reduce complications.

Beyond domestic training, Dr. Tan and his colleagues have had the opportunity to participate in study and professional exchange programs in Japan and South Korea, while also receiving technology transfer from international experts. These trips not only broaden their horizons but also help young doctors and medical staff access advanced medical advancements worldwide , gradually improving the quality of treatment in their local area.
Dr. Diem Son, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 1, said: "The hospital's team of young doctors, including Dr. Vu Duy Tan, are playing a crucial role in the strategy of developing specialized expertise and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment in the locality. When given opportunities and a favorable environment, these young doctors have very effectively demonstrated their abilities, sense of responsibility, and creativity."
The team of young doctors is the core force for the future of the hospital. With their enthusiasm, increasingly solid professional skills, and desire to contribute, I believe that these young doctors will continue to contribute to building Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 1 into a trusted address for the care and protection of people's health.

Continuing the story of ambitious young doctors in Lao Cai, another outstanding figure is Dr. Ngo Tien Thai, who is contributing to opening up new advancements in the field of interventional cardiology at the provincial level.
After graduating from Hanoi Medical University in 2018, Dr. Ngo Tien Thai returned to work at the No. 2 General Hospital in Lao Cai province. From his early years of work, he demonstrated a proactive and eager attitude, a desire to learn, and a wish to develop his expertise in cardiology – a specialty requiring high technical skills and absolute precision. With the support and encouragement of the hospital's Board of Directors, Dr. Thai was sent for training at Bach Mai Hospital. From 2019, he pursued advanced studies in cardiology, including interventional cardiology and a master's program. After a rigorous training process, in November 2024, Dr. Thai completed his course and returned to his unit, directly overseeing the implementation of interventional cardiology techniques at the hospital.

Recently, Dr. Thai successfully received the transfer of coronary artery intervention techniques – a highly specialized technique belonging to the group of specialized techniques in the field of cardiology. This is an important milestone, marking a strong development of high-tech medical care at the Provincial General Hospital No. 2. Sharing about this new advancement, Dr. Ngo Tien Thai said: “The Provincial General Hospital No. 2 has been equipped with an intervention room with a modern digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system, allowing for the localization of coronary angiography, angioplasty, and stent placement. This is almost the gold standard in treating acute myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, as well as monitoring and evaluating lesions in patients with chronic coronary artery disease. The implementation of this technique helps patients receive timely emergency care, reduces referral time, and increases the chances of survival.”
The maturity of young doctors like Ngo Tien Thai, Vu Duy Tan, and many other young doctors in medical units throughout the province is not only reflected in their increasingly solid professional skills, but also in their willingness to take responsibility and be pioneers in high-tech fields.

Not only have they made their mark in professional activities, but the province's young doctors have also affirmed their pioneering role in community-oriented movements. At the end of December 2025, the delegation of the Provincial Young Doctors Association attended the 5th National Congress of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association. At the congress, the delegation was honored to receive one certificate of merit for the collective and three certificates of merit for individuals for their many positive and effective contributions to the association's work and the young doctors' movement during the 2020-2025 period. This is not only a recognition of the efforts of the young doctors and medical staff throughout the province, but also a testament to the pioneering spirit, creativity, and responsibility of the young medical force in this border region of the country.
Over the years, the province's young medical professionals have become the core force in many professional activities as well as movements for community health. Many doctors have boldly embraced advanced techniques, proactively pursued further education to improve their skills, and contributed to the gradual implementation of specialized medical services right in their localities. We highly appreciate the sense of responsibility, dynamism, and dedication of this young medical team.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Chairman of the Provincial Young Doctors Association, stated: In the coming time, the health sector of Lao Cai will continue to focus on building appropriate mechanisms and policies; creating favorable conditions for specialized training and development, investing in equipment and a conducive working environment so that young doctors can further develop their professional capabilities and serve the cause of people's health care.
With an increasingly solid professional foundation, along with the attention and support from the province and the health sector, the young medical professionals of Lao Cai are gradually affirming their pioneering role in improving the quality of healthcare for the people - continuing the journey of dedication with the intellect, enthusiasm, and responsibility of the young generation in the medical field.
