Rules of the 29th Golden Apricot Awards

The Mai Vang Award organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper is an annual award nominated and voted by readers, for individuals, groups of artists, works, television programs - digital platforms taking place during the year (from December of the previous year to the end of November of the following year) that are most loved by the public - readers of the newspaper.

The 29th Golden Apricot Award nomination round - 2023 takes place from September 15 to November 25. Based on the actual cultural and artistic activities during the year and the level of public interest of the readers of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the Organizing Committee of the 29th Golden Apricot Award - 2023 has decided on 15 nomination categories, including:

1. Most favorite male singer.

2. Most favorite female singer.

3. Most favorite song.

4. Most favorite MV (music video ).

5. Most favorite singing group.

6. Most favorite stage actor.

7. Most favorite stage actress.

8. Most favorite comedian.

9. Most popular stage play.

10. Most favorite film and television actor.

11. Most favorite film and television actress.

12. Most favorite TV series.

13. Most favorite movie.

14. Most favorite MC.

15. TV shows - the most popular digital platform.

The 29th Golden Apricot Award nomination round - 2023 takes place on the following media: Electronic Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong (nld.com.vn), Mai Vang website (maivang.nld.com.vn) and Facebook Mai Vang connection. Readers access the Electronic Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong (nld.com.vn) or Mai Vang website (maivang.nld.com.vn) to receive nomination forms. Readers participating in the nomination only need to fill in the information according to the instructions.

The 29th Golden Apricot Award voting round will take place from December 7, 2023 to January 6, 2024. Notably, this year's voting format will be different from last year. Readers must register an account on Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to be able to submit their ballots. The Organizing Committee will provide specific instructions on the detailed process before the voting round.

The Organizing Committee, based on the actual number of votes from readers in each category, together with the Art Council, votes to select the top 5 candidates (ordered from 01 to 05) to get the results. If the results of the readers' votes coincide with the Art Council's, then that result will be announced. In case of a large difference, the Organizing Committee will ask for the opinion of the Steering Committee and the Art Council will decide.

The 29th Golden Apricot Award Art Council - 2023 was established by the Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, with members including famous artists and prestigious experts.

In addition to the 15 categories mentioned above, the 29th Mai Vang - 2023 also has the following awards:

- "Artist for the Community 2023" Award.

- Award "Outstanding cultural and artistic work in 2023".

These awards are not voted on, but will be submitted to professional associations for comments before being submitted to the Art Council for consideration. The final results will be decided by the Editorial Board - Steering Committee of the 29th Golden Apricot Awards - 2023.

The 29th Mai Vang Awards Ceremony - 2023 and the Mai Vang Gala will be combined into one program, scheduled to take place on the night of January 18, 2024 at the City Theater (HCMC). The award ceremony will be broadcast live by Vietnam Television on VTV9 channel, and reported online by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper on its platforms.

Instructions on how to nominate

Readers who nominate by electronic ballot can access the electronic newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong (nld.com.vn) or the Mai Vang website (maivang.nld.com.vn) or connect with Mai Vang Facebook to receive nomination ballots and receive instructions.

Readers have the right to nominate their favorite artists, works or entertainment programs in one or more categories in the fields of music, theater, cinema, television - digital platform. In each category, readers can only nominate once for an individual, group of artists, works or television programs - digital platform. Repeated nominations are not valid.

A valid nomination form is one that has a valid mobile phone number and is activated once after the participant submits the form. In addition, to be considered for a prize, readers must record the predicted number of nominations for the 29th Golden Apricot Awards - 2023.

Note:

- Readers participating in the nomination must use their mobile phones to send a text message (1,500 VND/message) to the switchboard 8100 (with the content: MAIVANG) to verify that the phone number is real. After successfully sending the text message, the next time you enter the nomination, readers only need to enter that phone number and send to receive a notification of successful nomination.

If the phone number is not verified, the nomination will be considered invalid. You only need to text that phone number once, and you do not need to text again for subsequent nominations.

Prizes for readers participating in nominations include: First prize: 5 million VND, second prize: 3 million VND, third prize: 2 million VND and 10 consolation prizes: 1 million VND/prize.

The winning ticket is the ticket whose nomination is on the list of voting rounds announced by the Organizing Committee, with the predicted number of votes participating in the nomination closest to the total number of votes nominated on the electronic newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong, mobile version of Nguoi Lao Dong.

The winning reader will be responsible for income tax according to the law.
