The National Children's Hospital, branch 2, was built in Kieu Phu commune, Hanoi city. The inauguration marks a strategic step forward for the hospital in expanding its scale and improving its capacity for specialized medical examination and treatment, contributing to ensuring fairness in access to high-quality medical services for children.
The National Children's Hospital, Branch 2, is a project within the general planning for the construction of the capital until 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in 2011. The project has a total planned land area of about 6 hectares, of which the construction area is about 7,530 square meters, with a scale of 300 inpatient beds.
After more than two years of construction efforts, the National Children's Hospital, Branch 2, has completed an administrative block, a paraclinical block, two 5-storey inpatient treatment blocks, and accompanying synchronous technical infrastructure items.
With a complete infrastructure, modern medical equipment; gathering a team of highly qualified doctors and specialized departments, the National Children's Hospital, Branch 2 will meet the needs of medical examination and treatment, from common diseases to specialized diseases for children in the suburbs of Hanoi and neighboring provinces.
This event also affirms the health sector's commitment to continuously improving the quality of child health care, aiming to build a modern, humane and internationally integrated pediatric system.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien, Party Secretary, Director of the National Children's Hospital, said: the inauguration of the National Children's Hospital, Facility 2 is a great honor for the National Children's Hospital; it is the recognition of the Party, State, Government, Ministry of Health and other ministries, departments and branches for the pioneering role of the health sector in the cause of taking care of people's health - especially children.
Along with the construction and preparation of facilities, the hospital has prepared and trained a team of pediatricians. With new construction, synchronous technical infrastructure, advanced equipment... the hospital's second facility has the capacity to examine 1,000 outpatients/day.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien shared that from an empty plot of land, in just over two years, this place has become a spacious hospital, ready to receive the first pediatric patients and share the pressure with the main facility in the heart of the capital. This project is not only meaningful in terms of expertise and health, but also a clear demonstration of the Government's correct policy in investing in strategic infrastructure, contributing to ensuring social security and sustainable development. Facility 2 will not only be a place for medical examination and treatment, but will be a safe home for children.
