(GLO)- In recent years, the districts of Dak Doa, Mang Yang, Dak Po, Kbang and An Khe town (Emulation Cluster No. 2, Gia Lai province) have actively launched and implemented patriotic emulation movements. The results achieved from the emulation movements have contributed to promoting socio-economic development, building a strong political system, and ensuring national defense and security in the region.

Outstanding results

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kbang District - said: In 2022, Kbang District will be the Head of Emulation Cluster No. 2. Based on the content of the cluster's signed regulations and the actual situation, districts and towns will proactively develop plans to launch emulation movements. The plan has been responded to by Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, organizations and people in the area, contributing to achieving important results in all fields.

In the economic field, in 2022, the total production value of Kbang district (at 2010 comparative prices) reached 5,271.2 billion VND, an increase of 8.08% compared to 2021; Dak Po district reached 2,540.811 billion VND, an increase of 7.69%; Mang Yang district reached more than 2,720.3 billion VND, an increase of 8.47%; Dak Doa district reached 9,808 billion VND, an increase of 12.6% and An Khe town reached 10,209.15 billion VND, an increase of 13.09%.

Poverty reduction work has been directed by localities with specific programs, plans and jobs. As a result, the poverty rate of localities has decreased sharply: Mang Yang district decreased by 3.58%, Dak Po decreased by 1.87%, Dak Doa decreased by 2.4%, Kbang decreased by 1.41% and An Khe town decreased by 1.79%. The rate of communes, wards and towns meeting national health standards in Kbang, Dak Doa, Dak Po districts and An Khe town reached 100%; Mang Yang district reached 91.91%.

Cultural, sports and tourism activities have many positive changes. The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” continues to be promoted. The work of restoring, preserving and promoting the cultural identity, traditions of ethnic minorities and historical revolutionary relics is focused on.

Localities have also focused on implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, in conjunction with implementing Conclusion No. 21-KL/TW dated October 25, 2021 of the Party Central Committee on promoting Party building and rectification and the political system; resolutely preventing, repelling and strictly handling cadres and party members who have degraded in political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation".

Through emulation movements, many collectives and individuals have achieved the titles of "Advanced Labor Collective", "Advanced Labor", "Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level"; were awarded emulation flags by the Provincial People's Committee, certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and certificates of merit by the Chairmen of the District and Town People's Committees. In particular, Dak Po town was honored to receive the emulation flag from the Government for its excellent and comprehensive completion of its tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2021.

Promoting the achieved results, in the first months of 2023, the Party Executive Committee of An Khe town focused on leading and directing the political system to continue to unite and resolutely and effectively implement solutions to restore and develop the socio-economy. As a result, the total production value in the first quarter of 2023 reached more than 3,404 billion VND, reaching 29.56% of the plan (up 10.15% over the same period in 2022). The total turnover of retail goods and services reached more than 2,333 billion VND, reaching 33.28% of the plan. The total budget revenue in the area was 22.77 billion VND, reaching 13.52% of the provincial estimate. The town has completed the task of building new rural areas; continuing to deploy the construction of advanced new rural areas and new rural villages in ethnic minority areas.

Organizational and personnel work is regularly and closely directed. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town and socio-political organizations regularly innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots; diversifying forms of mass gathering, increasing the rate of attracting union members; continuing to effectively implement patriotic emulation campaigns and movements.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Vy - Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Khe Town - informed: "Based on the socio-economic development plan targets for 2023, departments, branches, organizations, agencies, units, communes and wards, according to their functions and tasks, proactively advise on developing programs and plans to organize and launch emulation campaigns. All strive to achieve the highest level of the socio-economic development plan targets for 2023, making achievements to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023), the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Town Party Committee (March 14, 1948 - March 14, 2023) and the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Town (December 24, 2003 - December 24, 2023)".

Promote emulation movements

Dak Ya Commune (Mang Yang District) has 1,229 households with 5,088 people, ethnic minorities account for nearly 40% of the population. To successfully implement socio-economic development targets, the Commune People's Committee has developed a plan to launch a patriotic emulation movement. Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Ha said: The commune focuses on propagating Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation in conjunction with effectively implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; actively responding to emulation movements launched by the province and district.

At the same time, closely follow the district's emulation movement launch plan, based on the local actual situation to develop a number of economic, cultural-social, environmental, national defense-security, Party building, emulation, and reward targets; propose solutions and implementation time; assign specific tasks to departments, specialized staff to advise and assist so that emulation movement activities meet the set requirements.

Ms. Tran Thi My Lien - Head of the Mang Yang District Internal Affairs Department shared: “Based on the content of the emulation agreement signed by the cluster in 2023, the Department has advised the District People's Committee to develop a plan to organize and launch an emulation movement to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks in 2023, celebrating the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation. In particular, the district sets out a number of key targets; innovates implementation work; encourages the promotion of internal strength and new factors in each agency and unit. Directs communes, towns, agencies, departments, branches, and unions to actively deploy and launch emulation movements from the district to the grassroots level".

At the conference to summarize the emulation and reward work in 2022 and deploy tasks for 2023, Dak Po district excellently took the lead in Emulation Cluster No. 2. The member districts and towns of the cluster proposed Dak Po district to be the Head of the Emulation Cluster in 2023. As the Head of the Cluster, Dak Po district consulted with the member districts and towns and issued regulations on coordinating the cluster's activities. Representatives of local leaders organized the signing of emulation covenants with 28 criteria, focusing on 3 contents: Emulation in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security; implementing the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, building the political system; performing emulation and reward tasks.

Mr. Bui Van Khanh - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Po District People's Committee - said: The cluster issued a plan to ensure specific, practical activities, closely following the key political tasks of the cluster in general and the districts and towns in particular. Along with that, improve the capacity and effectiveness of organizing emulation movements and commendation work; strengthen coordination between member units to promote combined strength, at the same time overcome limitations and shortcomings to promote common development.

“Through the activities of the emulation cluster, we aim to promote the spirit of solidarity and strengths of each district and town in organizing and implementing patriotic emulation movements in 2023; achieve achievements to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation. Strengthen exchanges and experiences in emulation and reward work among member units in the cluster, gradually innovate and improve the quality of emulation movements and reward work in the spirit of Directive No. 34-CT/TW dated April 7, 2014 of the Politburo on continuing to innovate emulation and reward work, contributing to the successful implementation of political, socio-economic, defense and security goals and tasks of each locality,” Mr. Khanh emphasized.
