Urgently advise on adjusting social housing targets

On the morning of July 30, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting with the Department of Construction and related departments and localities to listen to reports on the implementation of contents on the target of completing social housing in 2025 and the following years.

According to the report on social housing targets assigned by the Prime Minister, by the end of 2024, the northern and southern Khanh Hoa regions had completed 4,212 units, reaching 100% of the target. In the period of 2025 - 2030, the province was assigned the target of completing 10,088 social housing units; of which 2,846 units were assigned to be completed in 2025. Currently, there are 2 projects under construction in the province, expected to complete 1,404 units by the end of 2025; 2 projects have completed investment procedures, 6 projects have been granted investment policies, adjusted investment policies and 3 projects have submitted documents requesting approval of investment policies. At the meeting, the Department of Construction proposed that the Provincial People's Committee report to the Ministry of Construction to submit to the Prime Minister to adjust the target for completing social housing in 2025 and the following years, in order to match the progress of project implementation, ensuring the assigned target for the period 2025 - 2030.

After listening to the opinions of departments, branches and localities, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam assigned the Department of Construction to continue reviewing and evaluating the complete supply and demand plan for social housing; ensuring the development of social housing is associated with the requirements of socio -economic development in the province. At the same time, develop solutions to attract investors to participate in social housing projects; urge to accelerate the implementation of existing projects across the province. Mr. Tran Hoa Nam also requested the Department of Construction to continue researching and advising the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Construction to submit to the Prime Minister to adjust the target for completing social housing in the period from now to 2030.
