Meanwhile, candidates taking the 2006 GeneralEducation Program will take the Natural Science (KHTN) exam, which includes the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology; the Social Science (KHXH) exam, which includes the subjects: History, Geography, and Civic Education; the time for each component subject will be 50 minutes. In the afternoon (June 27), candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will take the English exam.

Difficult optional exam

After 100 minutes of taking the two optional exams, most of the candidates leaving the exam room said that this year's exams were difficult. Therefore, the scores for the optional exams will not be high and it will be difficult to get a score of 8.

At the exam site of Ngo Gia Tu High School (Tuy Hoa City), Duong Mai Anh Tuyet said: I chose to take 2 subjects: English and Economic and Legal Education. With the English test, I think I will get about 5 points. As for the Economic and Legal Education subject, I find the content of the multiple choice questions (from questions 1-24) quite practical. As for part 2, answering true or false according to each answer a, b, c, d, I find the ideas are quite similar so it is easy to get confused.

Le Cong Doan, a student at Ngo Gia Tu High School, shared: The Chemistry exam consists of 3 parts. Part 1 is multiple choice (18 questions), part 2 is choosing true or false (4 questions), part 3 is answering the content of the question. I find part 1 quite easy, close to the content of the curriculum and I am able to get full marks with these questions. Part 2 and part 3 are more difficult. I think I will get about 6-7 points for this exam.

Waiting for his child to take the exam in the hot weather at Ton Duc Thang Secondary School, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thai shared: No matter what the result is, my child has tried to complete the graduation exam, I hope he has enough points to enter the university of his choice.

At the exam site of Tran Suyen High School (Phu Hoa district), candidate Tran Van Thang (Hoa Quang Bac commune) said that the exam structure of the elective subjects is new, the knowledge is so general that it is difficult to do all the questions. In this year's exam, he chose to take 2 elective subjects, Physics and Chemistry, for university admission. He is likely to get 6.5 points for each subject.

Mr. Do Dai Duy, Physics teacher, Le Loi High School (Dong Xuan district) commented: This year's Physics exam has many changes compared to previous years. Part I, 18 multiple choice questions, students can easily pass. Part II, true or false answers are easier than the illustration questions of the Ministry of Education and Training . To do well in this part, students need to have reading comprehension skills and practical experimental knowledge, understanding how to use and how the equipment works. Part III, this year has changes, not focusing too much on mathematical knowledge and skills but enhancing practical knowledge of understanding and analyzing physical phenomena. This part also has questions applying interdisciplinary knowledge related to chemistry at a basic level.

Gentle combination of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences

The Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School (Tuy Hoa City) is where independent candidates take the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program. After finishing the 150-minute exam for the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences combination, most candidates walked out of the exam room in a relaxed mood. Many candidates said that this year's exam was easy, and they could get a score of 7 or 8. Candidate Nguyen Ngoc Bao Tram (Tuy An District), currently a first-year student at the Da Nang University of Technology and Pharmacy taking the exam to be considered for admission to Hue University of Medicine, said: This year's exam was relatively easy. Of the three subjects, Math, Chemistry, and Biology, Math was the most difficult. Of the 50 Math questions, questions 30 to 50 were highly differentiated. As for Chemistry and Biology, the exam was easy. For Chemistry, the most difficult part was from questions 35 to 40, and questions 1 to 34 were easy because they were learned in theory. With this set of questions, you can probably get 7.5-8.5 points.

Similarly, candidate Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai in Ea Bar commune (Song Hinh district), currently a first-year student at Quy Nhon University majoring in Preschool Education, said: This year, I decided to retake the three subjects of Literature, History, and Geography to consider admission to the Preschool Education major at Phu Yen University to study near my home. Of the three subjects, I found History the most difficult. Many of the questions were similar, making it difficult to choose the correct answer. Geography was the easiest, I used Atlas to answer 11 questions on this test. Of the three subjects, I scored over 7.5 points on each subject.

English score range is from 5-7 points

On the afternoon of June 27, 59/72 candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program took the English test, which lasted 60 minutes and was multiple choice. This is the final exam of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.

After finishing the exam, the candidates left and most commented that this year's English test was not as difficult as in 2024, but it was a bit difficult to get a score of 8 or higher. The test was highly differentiated in the reading comprehension section.

Candidate Nguyen Quynh Tram, a first-year student majoring in Economics at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, shared: “This year’s exam has 50 multiple-choice questions with 4 parts. The grammar part is from question 1 to question 19, basic knowledge so it is easy to get points. The most difficult part is reading comprehension from question 34 to question 50. These are the questions that start to differentiate to highly differentiate. With this exam, I am likely to get 7.5 points.”

Candidate Le Nguyen Trong Nhat, a first-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, said: “This year’s English test to get a score of 9 is very difficult. The test has a high level of differentiation to consider university scores, so there were some questions in the reading comprehension section that I got wrong.”

Some English teachers at high schools in the province said that the 2025 high school graduation exam in English for the 2006 General Education Program is relatively easy and not as challenging as the English exam under the 2018 General Education Program. In general, with this year's exam, many candidates will achieve scores ranging from 5 to 7 points. Few candidates will achieve scores of 8 or 9.

MR. NGUYEN NHO LOC, HEAD OF CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT, LUONG VAN CHANH HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE SPECIALIZED: Chemistry has two significant changes.

This year's Chemistry exam is diverse in question formats, including: 18 multiple-choice questions; 4 true-false questions (with a total of 16 questions) and 6 short-answer questions. Unlike previous years, when the exam only used one type of multiple-choice question (40 questions), this year's change clearly shows the orientation of assessment based on the learner's capacity. The exam structure focuses on assessing students' capacity including: chemical cognition capacity, capacity to learn about the natural world and capacity to apply knowledge and skills. Each capacity is demonstrated through different levels in each specific question. In terms of differentiation, this year's exam has good classification for good and excellent students. The exam is not heavy on calculation but focuses on the nature, the theoretical basis of chemistry and practical application. The score range will be around 6-6.5, good students can achieve 9-10.

The 2025 Chemistry high school graduation exam reflects the innovative spirit of the 2018 General Education Program. The exam structure is diverse, the content closely follows the program, focuses on assessing capacity and has good differentiation.

MR. NGO MINH NHU TOAI, ENGLISH TEACHER, DUY TAN HIGH SCHOOL (Tuy Hoa City): English exam questions can classify candidates

The 2025 English exam applies a new structure with 40 multiple-choice questions in a shortened test time of 50 minutes, requiring candidates to not only master knowledge but also have effective time management skills.

The easy-to-scoring sections only account for about 50-60% of the test, including basic grammar questions (relative clauses, determiners/quantifiers, conjunctions, prepositions, etc.), common vocabulary, and reading comprehension with familiar topics. The section on arranging dialogues and paragraphs is usually very easy if students have mastered the basic rules. For candidates who thoroughly review textbook knowledge and familiarize themselves with the review test questions developed from the Ministry of Education and Training's reference questions, they can achieve 5-7 points.

For the difficult to classify section, the test focuses on advanced vocabulary questions, phrasal verbs, idioms and complex reading passages with academic vocabulary. In particular, the synonyms, antonyms and sentence completion sections are often difficult because they require a wide vocabulary and the ability to infer context. These questions help top universities select candidates with excellent abilities.

I predict that the average score for English will be around 5-6 points. For candidates using English to apply for university, the standard score for international languages or economics majors usually ranges from 7-8 points, while highly competitive majors such as medicine may require 8-9 points.
