From the score distribution of the subject groups announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, it can be seen that the number of candidates who scored between 15 and 20 points is very high. The chance of admission for candidates is very high because this is also the score that many universities set as the minimum score for admission for all majors or certain majors.
Opportunities in engineering, technology, and environment at public schools
In 2025, Dalat University will have 36 majors with a minimum score of 16-20 points. Dr. Tran Huu Duy, Head of the University's Training Department, said that among these 36 majors, except for physics education, chemistry education, biology education, and history education with a minimum score of 20, the standard score is likely to be above 20 points.
For the remaining majors such as data science , mathematics (mathematics-computer science), physics, chemistry, nuclear engineering, biotechnology, food technology, Vietnamese studies, sociology, business administration, finance and banking..., candidates with scores from 16-20 are expected to have a high chance of being admitted.

Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, also informed that this year, all majors of the university have a minimum admission score of under 20 (from 17-19 points). However, the chance of admission for candidates with 20 points or less may only fall into some majors in the environmental group such as environmental engineering technology, land management, and natural resource and environmental management.
Similarly, in the English enhancement program, some majors such as food technology, chemical technology, and thermal engineering technology also predict benchmark scores equivalent to the floor score and below 20 points.
According to the floor score announced by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the engineering and technology group takes 16 points. Master Pham Thai Son, Director of the school's Admissions and Communications Center, predicted: "This year, the standard scores for majors such as thermal engineering, seafood processing technology, chemical engineering technology, environmental engineering technology, resource and environmental management, electrical and electronic engineering technology... are likely to be the same as last year, under 20 points."
Chances of admission to most non-public school majors
With a score of 15-20, candidates also have the opportunity to be admitted to many non-public universities. Master Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, Director of the Communication Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said: "Based on this year's score distribution, it is predicted that the standard scores of the school's majors may fluctuate from 15-20 after converting scores between methods, except for the health major."
Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, commented that according to the trend and enrollment targets, the expected benchmark score for 2025 will range from 16 to 17, in which majors such as multimedia communications, public relations, logistics & supply chain management, information technology, economic law or business administration may still maintain the level of 16 - 17 points due to high demand.
"Some majors can be expected to score around 16 points, such as educational technology, accounting, and Oriental studies," Master Tu added.
Master Nguyen Tien Lap, Head of Training Department of Hoa Sen University, predicted that the school's benchmark score in 2025 would range from 15 to 19. Of which, artificial intelligence could range from 16 to 18 points, sports economics and financial technology around 17 to 19 points, and the remaining majors could range from 15 to 16 points.
At Pacific University, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of Admissions and Communications, informed that the expected admission scores for all majors of the school remain unchanged compared to last year, around 15 points. Law alone is around 18 points. These are also the minimum admission scores for this year's school.
Van Lang University also expects all majors at the school, especially engineering majors, to have a benchmark score equivalent to the floor score, 15 points, except for majors in health and multimedia communications. Similarly, all majors at Gia Dinh University are expected to have a benchmark score equivalent to the floor score, 15 points, except for the maxillofacial major, 20.5 points.
