In its latest report, Phuc Thinh Import-Export Investment Joint Stock Company stated that demand shows signs of increasing in Europe, America and Africa, however the Chinese market is still slow.
The US continued to be Vietnam's largest pepper export market in August 2023, reaching 4,376 tons, up 31.8% compared to July. Next are the markets: India: 1,986 tons (up 205.1%); China: 1,465 tons (down 25.2%); UAE: 1,234 tons (up 124.0%)...
Leading the export in August was Olam Vietnam with 1,862 tons, up 8.2% compared to the previous month. Next were the following enterprises: Nedspipce: 1,544 tons (up 35.2%); Tran Chau: 1,154 tons (up 1.2%); Phuc Sinh: 1,084 tons (up 22.2%)...
In the first 8 months, China was Vietnam's largest pepper export market, reaching 53,792 tons, up 454.8% and accounting for 28.7% of the market share. Next was the US with 33,589 tons, down 10.6%, accounting for 17.9% of the market share. Exports from Africa increased by 13.2%, of which Egypt increased by 47.5% to 3,113 tons; Senegal: 1,763 tons, up 53.2%... Exports to China remained at the top as this country bought heavily to replenish its reserves after many years of closure due to Covid-19. Purchasing power from this market began to decline in the middle of the year.
High demand from now until the end of the year along with low harvest output in many countries due to weather are two factors that will help pepper prices recover in the fourth quarter of 2023.
