As the year draws to a close, the prosperous countryside at the foot of Huong Tich Pagoda (Can Loc - Ha Tinh ) is transformed with a new look. Thien Loc, a model new rural commune, is ready to enter the festival season.

Closely linked to the history of Can Loc district's formation and development, Thien Loc, nestled at the foot of Hong Mountain, has long been known throughout the country for its legendary stories about Huong Tich Pagoda and its picturesque landscape – a place dubbed "Hoan Chau's most beautiful scenic spot".

The cable car system at Huong Tich Pagoda has just been serviced and is ready for the festival season.

Thanks to infrastructure investment from the ADB-funded tourism development project, the route to Huong Tich Pagoda is now very convenient for tourists. Electric vehicles, cable cars, boats, and walking paths allow visitors to experience the journey to this sacred place in their own way, immersing themselves in the majestic mountains and clouds of Ngan Hong. In 2023, Huong Tich Pagoda welcomed 135,000 visitors who came to admire and worship there.

Leveraging the potential and advantages of the locality, the mindset of developing tourism and promoting the image of the homeland has deeply ingrained itself in the thinking of the people and is considered one of the key drivers of economic development. Accordingly, every inch of land, every agricultural product, or every landscape in this area at the foot of Hong Mountain is gradually becoming a unique tourism product.

As the festival season approaches, Thien Loc seems to be infused with new life. It's a livable space, a model of a new rural area realized through the principle that each residential area possesses its own unique beauty to attract tourists participating in tours and travel routes; it's a fertile field spanning hundreds of hectares at the foot of the mountains, producing crops such as vegetables, onions, and shallots; it's the vibrant colors of banners and slogans, the bright red bougainvillea vines, and the road leading to the Huong Tich Pagoda tourist area dyed purple by bauhinia flowers.

The road leading to Huong Tich Pagoda, adorned with purple bauhinia flowers, has become an ideal check-in spot for many tourists.

Mr. Vo Minh Dan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thien Loc commune, informed: "To prepare for the festival season, the local government has directed the villages to strengthen environmental sanitation, beautify village roads and alleys, and trim and care for flower-lined streets. In addition, the locality has developed a plan and assigned various organizations to prepare folk games; and strengthened coordination with the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area to contribute to ensuring security and safety before, during, and after the festival."

With the proactive efforts of the local government, in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), farmers in Thien Loc are also racing against time to prepare agricultural products to serve tourists. Ms. Nguyen Thi Quy from Hong Tan village said: “For us, the festival season is also a season that brings hope for income and promotes local agricultural products. Following in the footsteps of tourists, various vegetables, especially Thien Loc shallots, have become known to people all over the country. Thanks to this, the Thien Loc shallot brand is increasingly strengthened, and the income of the people is increasingly improved.”

Aiming to organize an impressive festival event to kick off the 2024 tourism year in a land rich in cultural heritage, the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area is making efforts to prepare. This includes coordinating with relevant departments to promote awareness through mass media; creating QR codes to introduce the Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area and providing multimedia explanations; and strengthening tour and route connections. Notably, the Management Board recently launched a website to help tourists and local residents better understand the history of the pagoda, introduce tours and routes, tourism services, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products in the area.

“Currently, we are urgently completing the renovation and repair of various items: the road leading to the pagoda, the stage, the festival space in the square of the Tourism Management Board, the ticket gate, the check-in points... to create highlights for tourists. At the same time, the heritage exhibition house, the agricultural product store, and the local trade stalls are gradually becoming operational, contributing to creating highlights and promoting the image of the land and people of Can Loc to tourists,” shared Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha - Head of the Huong Tich Pagoda Tourism Management Board.

In harmony with the laws of nature and the heavens, the distinct movements in the tapestry of life in Thien Loc are also evident in the joyful sounds echoing across the verdant Ngan Hong mountain range; in the vibrant colors of the residential areas... and in the bustling hearts of the people. Thien Loc is ready to enter the festival season.
