The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today, August 23, the weather in the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain (thunderstorms will be concentrated in the late afternoon and evening). In the mountainous areas, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms at night and in the morning, with some places having very heavy rain.

Rainfall is generally 20-50mm, locally very heavy rain over 100mm. Warning of risk of heavy rain (>80mm/3h).

Area from Thanh Hoa to Hue has showers and thunderstorms in some places.

South Central Coast showers and thunderstorms in some places.

Central Highlands and Southern region have showers and thunderstorms in some places, heavy rain in the evening. Thunderstorms may have tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Regarding storm number 5, the meteorological agency assessed that the storm is moving quickly, at a speed of about 20km/h. The authorities assessed that "there are very few conditions that can weaken the storm, and it can even strengthen when it moves into the Gulf of Tonkin". The reason is that the temperature and humidity conditions are very favorable for a storm to be nurtured.

The storm circulation is particularly wide and will cause rain for a large area across the North to the Central Central region.
