(PLVN) - The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that from this afternoon and evening, the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain.

The South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions currently have localized showers and thunderstorms.

According to the Hydro-Meteorological Agency, from the afternoon and evening of May 2, the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, and some places over 60mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

Regarding the weather at sea, the Hydro-Meteorological Agency said that currently, the Central and Southern East Sea (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago), the waters from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau are experiencing showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for the day and night of May 2, the Central and Southern East Sea (including the waters of Truong Sa archipelago), the waters from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
