According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh Commune, by 8:00 a.m. on October 1, the entire commune had 130 affected houses, 108 households had to be urgently evacuated to ensure safety. The damaged agricultural and forestry area was over 155 hectares, with an estimated value of about 4.6 billion VND. Along with that, 13 infrastructure works were severely damaged, including bridges, roads, and irrigation works, with a total damage of about 2.3 billion VND. The total damage value of the entire commune is estimated at over 7.2 billion VND.
Notably, the completely damaged Lang Dau reinforced concrete bridge has left 51 households with 223 people in the area isolated and without any means of transportation. i means of transport cannot circulate. In particular, 57 students from primary to high school cannot go to school, directly affecting their studies in the first days of the new school year.

Mr. Hoang Van Han, Head of Lang Dau Village, said: The village currently has 113 households divided into 3 hamlets, one of which is completely isolated due to the lack of a bridge. Students cannot go to school, making it very difficult for people to travel.
Faced with the emergency, the Party Committee and the authorities of Phuc Khanh commune quickly deployed a plan to support the people. Initially, local forces were mobilized to transport food and provisions to reach isolated households. However, access is currently mainly by walking through streams, fields and hills, which is very difficult and potentially dangerous.

Ms. Trinh Duyen, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh Commune, said: In the next 1-2 days, the local government will mobilize forces to build temporary bamboo bridges so that people can initially travel, and at the same time organize a plan to support students to go to school. However, this is only a temporary solution and does not ensure long-term safety.
To overcome the above situation, the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh commune has requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider and allocate funds to carry out urgent projects such as: stacking stone cages, building temporary bridges, initially solving the need for travel and trade of goods. In the long term, the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh commune wishes to invest in a solid reinforced concrete bridge to ensure traffic safety, serve the people's lives, and at the same time meet the requirements of production development.
In the context of consecutive natural disasters, the early investment in building a temporary bridge, then a permanent bridge, not only helps people escape isolation, but also ensures a stable life for the entire Lang Dau village. This is an urgent need, contributing to ensuring the lives and studies of students, while creating conditions for production and socio -economic development of the locality.
