On October 1, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment issued Official Dispatch No. 7380/CD-BNNMT to the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company regarding the closure of the bottom discharge gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir.

Close another spillway gate at the bottom of Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir at 5:00 p.m. on October 1.

Accordingly, at 1:00 p.m. on October 1, 2025, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was at 119.53 m, the downstream water level was 62.10 m, the flow to the lake was 4,616 m3/s, the total flow to the downstream was 5,044 m3/s. Implementing the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River Basin in Decision No. 740/QD-TTg dated June 17, 2019 of the Prime Minister, Decision No. 922/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River Basin, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to: Close another bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Lake at 5:00 p.m. on October 1, 2025.

Closely monitor the development of rain and floods, construction safety, flow to the lake, upstream and downstream water levels of the reservoir, and promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control) and relevant agencies as prescribed.
