When operational, this section will connect National Highway 1 with the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway at the cloverleaf interchange (Km8+500). It will also connect with National Highway 26 via the diamond interchange (Km20+300), contributing to the completion of the East-West arterial road network of Khanh Hoa province.
According to the leaders of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Project Management Board for Agricultural and Transportation Construction Projects, before the road was opened to traffic, this approximately 20-kilometer section was inspected and reviewed by relevant agencies including the Traffic Police Department, the Vietnam Road Administration, and Road Management Area III before being approved by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee. This section was also assessed by the State Council for Construction Project Acceptance and deemed ready for operation.
According to the investor's representative, contractors are currently focusing on accelerating the construction progress of the remaining approximately 10 km of component project 1 to ensure its early completion and commissioning of the entire route in the near future.
The Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project has a total length of 117 km and is divided into three component projects. Component projects 1 and 3 are invested in by the People's Committees of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak provinces, respectively. Component project 2 is invested in by Project Management Board 6 (now the Railway Project Management Board) of the Ministry of Construction.
Upon completion, the project will shorten the travel distance from Khanh Hoa province to Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak province) from 200 km to 117 km, facilitating transportation and promoting trade between Khanh Hoa and the Central Highlands provinces.
