Letter from President Vo Van Thuong to the Education sector on the occasion of the opening of the 2023-2024 school year
Dear students, teachers, administrators, workers in the education sector and parents!
A new school year has begun. This is the return and also the beginning of beautiful and memorable things in life. Students, regardless of age, grade, mountain or plain, border or remote island… always determine that studying is an important task of life.
Each school year is a meaningful journey on the path of accumulating knowledge, practicing skills, cultivating qualities, establishing good and sustainable values for self-development.
The world and your future are wide open. Teachers, parents and the country always care and create the best conditions for you to comprehensively develop your abilities and qualities, promote your personal strengths, become special in your own way and become a proud part of the Fatherland and the Vietnamese people, confidently stepping out into the world with the mindset of global citizens. The aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, "standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents" can only be achieved when the country has citizens with intelligence and dignity, who love their family, Fatherland and compatriots; live decently and work effectively; dare to protect the right, be brave and alert against bad things and evil.
I always have faith in you. I see the bright future of our Fatherland in your vitality and in your noble dreams and ambitions.
Our Party and State always consider education as the top national policy. Educating and training children is the common task of the school, family and society. A country that wants to develop must have a high-quality education system and investment in education is investment in sustainable development.
I hope that teachers will always maintain their passion and dedication to their profession, have the courage to overcome all obstacles and difficulties, and contribute more to the noble cause of educating people.
I hope parents, for the future of their children, will join the school and society in educating and caring for their children.
I propose that Party committees, Party organizations, and authorities at all levels pay more attention to the education cause with timely and correct decisions, building a truly clean, healthy, and safe educational environment so that teachers and students can teach and learn in joy and happiness, and maximize their creative capacity, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in the country's education.
In the joyful sound of the school bell this Autumn, I cordially wish all students, teachers, education officials and parents to enter the new school year with new spirit, compete to teach well, study well, practice well, and have many new progress and achievements.
Although there are still concerns and worries when entering the new school year, let's all move forward firmly, overcome difficulties, and create new and practical values for the young generation - the future owners of the country.
