Nationwide recall of substandard eye drops.

On May 15th, the Departments of Health in provinces and cities nationwide notified medical facilities, pharmacies, and drug businesses about the recall of a batch of substandard 0.9% sodium chloride eye drops.

Businesses must cease trading, supplying, dispensing, prescribing, and selling the batch of 0.9% Sodium Chloride, batch number 10370725, manufactured on July 14, 2025, and expiring on January 14, 2028, produced by Pharmedic Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Materials Joint Stock Company. Units must recall the product, return it to the distributor, and submit recall reports to the Departments of Health in provinces and cities before May 29 (if applicable).

Previously, the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) issued a decision to recall the drug Sodium Chloride 0.9% (registration number: 893100060724), batch number 10370725, manufactured on July 14, 2025, expiry date January 14, 2028, produced by Pharmedic Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Materials Joint Stock Company. The recalled drug failed to meet quality standards regarding clarity (level 3 violation).

Provincial and city health departments, in coordination with relevant functional agencies, will strengthen inspection of wholesale and retail drug establishments in their areas, strictly handle violations within their authority, or refer cases to competent agencies for handling according to the law.
