West Ham want Suzuki. |
Gazzetta reports that West Ham's first bid for Suzuki was immediately rejected by Parma. The Serie A club would only consider letting the Japan international leave if they receive an offer of around €30m.
Suzuki is currently contracted to Parma until 2029, and the Italian club are under no pressure to sell him this summer.
For West Ham, the London team needs a quality goalkeeper this summer, after Alphonse Areola had a rather lackluster season, and reserve goalkeeper Wes Foderingham had many injury problems.
Suzuki has proven himself to be a reliable goalkeeper in Serie A and has the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League. If the deal goes through, Suzuki could be a valuable long-term investment for West Ham.
Suzuki currently earns 930,000 euros a year at Parma. If he joined a more expensive club like West Ham, his income could increase many times over.
Suzuki is 1.90 m tall and was born in 2002 in the US. As a child, this goalkeeper moved to Japan. With a Ghanaian-American father and a Japanese mother, Suzuki is eligible to represent three different teams, but he chose to wear the shirt of the team from the land of the rising sun.
