On June 1st, the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center announced that the entrance fee to Hai Van Pass would be implemented after the resolution of the Hue City People's Council officially came into effect on June 2nd.
Accordingly, a uniform entrance fee of 70,000 VND per person per visit will be applied to both Vietnamese citizens and international visitors. The Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center is the unit directly responsible for collecting and managing the fees in accordance with regulations.

In addition, many groups are exempt from or receive reduced entrance fees. Children under 13 years old, people with severe disabilities, high school students participating in extracurricular programs, and some other cases registered with the management unit are exempt from fees. Senior citizens, poor households, people with severe disabilities, those receiving cultural preferential policies, and students traveling in groups who register in advance receive a 50% discount on tickets.
According to the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center, visitors will use electronic tickets when visiting. A system of cameras using artificial intelligence (AI) has been installed to assist in monitoring and tracking visitor numbers, similar to the model currently applied at several other sites within the Hue Imperial Citadel Complex.

Hai Van Pass is located at the summit of Hai Van Pass, on the administrative border between Hue City and Da Nang City. It is a special national monument in terms of management, falling under the responsibility of both localities. Currently, Hue City takes turns managing and protecting the monument for three-year periods, with the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center directly operating it. From 2029, this responsibility will be transferred to Da Nang City according to the agreed-upon coordination mechanism.
Built in 1826 during the reign of Emperor Minh Mạng, Hải Vân Pass was an important military and defensive structure of the Nguyễn Dynasty. The site was classified as a National Monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2017 after Huế City and Đà Nẵng City jointly prepared the application for recognition.
After restoration, Hai Van Pass has become an attractive destination on the Hue - Da Nang tourist route, attracting many visitors thanks to its historical and architectural value and its unique location at the top of the pass, known as "the most magnificent pass in the world".
