On the afternoon of January 6, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met and congratulated the national men's football team after the team won the AFF Cup 2024 championship.

Sharing at the meeting to congratulate the team, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared many emotions when watching the final match between the Vietnamese team and Thailand on the evening of January 5. "Yesterday's match against Thailand was both exciting, anxious, and sometimes frustrating. Then there were indescribable emotions when the opposing team's defender scored an own goal due to the pressure from the Vietnamese team," the Prime Minister said. In particular, the Prime Minister mentioned the emotional moment when player Hai Long scored a goal when the ball slowly rolled into the net while the opponent was helpless.

I was very emotional when the ball slowly rolled into the net, very warm and gentle, sublimating our victory,” the head of the Government shared.
