Prime Minister Le Minh Hung receives the Russian Ambassador.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that on the afternoon of May 18, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Vietnam, Gennady Bezdetko.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung highly appreciated the positive developments in the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent times, especially the fact that the two sides have maintained regular high-level exchanges and contacts, promoted cooperation, maximized the achievements, and continued to implement and create major, mutually beneficial cooperation directions in all fields.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts of the Ambassador and the Russian Embassy and requested the Ambassador to continue to coordinate closely with Vietnamese ministries, departments, and agencies to effectively implement high-level agreements and further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

Expressing his honor to greet Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko sincerely congratulated the Prime Minister on being elected to this important position.

He affirmed that the Russian Federation always values ​​the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam, considering Vietnam as one of its top important partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko was pleased to report to the Prime Minister on the positive progress in bilateral cooperation in recent times, as well as areas and contents where both sides still have much room for further development.

The Russian side and the Ambassador personally are ready to cooperate closely with Vietnamese ministries, departments, localities, and businesses to concretize the cooperation orientations agreed upon by the high-level leaders of the two countries, promoting substantive cooperation in traditional as well as new fields, especially ensuring energy security, green transition, and science and technology .

The Prime Minister and the Russian Ambassador exchanged views and agreed on directions and measures to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields, from political and diplomatic relations to economic and trade relations, energy and oil and gas, science and technology, education and training, culture, and tourism. Both sides agreed to coordinate the implementation of activities commemorating the 35th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN-Russia relations.

The Prime Minister affirmed Vietnam's support for strengthening the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership, promoting dialogue and substantive cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as economy and trade, energy, science and technology, education and training, connectivity, responding to non-traditional security challenges, and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung extended his greetings to President V. Putin of the Russian Federation, Prime Minister M. Mishustin, and other leaders of the Russian Federation; and expressed his gratitude for the kind sentiments and sincere, friendly congratulations that the leaders and people of Russia have extended to the Party, State, people of Vietnam, and to the Prime Minister personally.
