Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, emphasized that the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament is organized with the desire to strongly spread the spirit of solidarity, discipline, dedication, and inspiration of the king sport, strengthen solidarity and friendship between countries in the region and the world, as well as between Vietnam and other countries, between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the police forces of other countries; promote close and effective cooperation between the police forces of other countries in ensuring security and order, fighting and preventing crimes, especially transnational crimes, for a world of peace , security, safety, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.
Promoting the sports spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility", General Luong Tam Quang believes that the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament will be a great success, contributing to fans with good matches and beautiful goals, leaving a strong impression; deeply demonstrating the solidarity, close and effective cooperation between the police forces of the countries to protect the peaceful and happy life of the people, for peace for all mankind; continuing to affirm that Vietnam is always ready to be a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member in the international community, always striving to increase contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament was elaborately and grandly staged, harmoniously combining traditional and modern music, imbued with the cultural identity of ASEAN countries, expressing the aspirations, solidarity and noble ideals of the new generation of police officers. Through each performance, the program conveyed the message of peace, cooperation and friendship between the police force - those who are day and night carrying out their responsibilities for the community, for peace, security, safety, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
The 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament is chaired by the Ministry of Public Security, co-organized by the Vietnam Football Federation, the Vietnam Sports Department, and the main sponsors are T&T Group and SHB Bank. The tournament is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Day (August 19, 1945/August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005/August 19, 2025).

The tournament took place from July 7 to 15, bringing together 8 teams representing the police forces of 7 countries: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Timor Leste, Australia and host Vietnam. According to the format, the 8 teams were divided into 2 groups to compete in a round robin, selecting the top 2 teams in each group to enter the semi-finals and the 2 winning teams in the semi-finals met in the final to choose the champion. The final match and the award ceremony took place on July 15.
