Meeting with leaders of Japan, South Korea and Canada at the ongoing ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam will continue to strengthen cooperation with these countries.

On September 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on the occasion of attending the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related conferences in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Hope Vietnam - Japan relations reach new heights
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Japan on successfully hosting the G7 Summit last May.
The Prime Minister said he has directed relevant Vietnamese agencies to closely coordinate with the Japanese side to implement high-level commitments and agreements reached between the two countries, including the results of talks with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida.
In response, Prime Minister Kishida thanked and appreciated Vietnam's participation and contributions at the G7 Summit , saying that Japan is actively coordinating with Vietnam to prepare well for upcoming high-level visits between the two countries, especially in 2023 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Japanese leaders expressed their hope that the two sides will closely coordinate to bring Vietnam-Japan relations to new heights.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the Japanese Government's policies to restore and develop the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic, especially policies on ODA development cooperation, the semiconductor - digital industry and receiving foreign workers, affirming that Vietnam will closely cooperate with Japan to implement the above policies, for the common interests of both countries.
In order to continue deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation, the Prime Minister proposed that Japan coordinate to effectively implement economic cooperation and ODA projects, and study the possibility of supporting Vietnam in developing the North-South high-speed railway project and urban railway in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also thanked and expressed his hope that the Japanese Government will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and do business in Japan, and at the same time contribute more to Japan's socio-economic development.
Deepen Vietnam - Korea relations

Meeting with President Yoon Suk Yeol, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his delight at the rapid and substantive developments in Vietnam-Korea relations since the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (December 2022).
He also congratulated the success of President Yoon Suk Yeol 's state visit to Vietnam last June, which left deep impressions on Vietnamese leaders and people.
President Yoon affirmed that Vietnam is a key partner of Korea in implementing the Indo-Pacific strategy, and sincerely thanked the leaders and people of Vietnam for their warm and respectful welcome to the delegation during their recent visit to Vietnam.
He also appreciated the close coordination between the two sides to implement the results of the recent visit to Vietnam, including the action program to implement the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The President of the Republic of Korea thanked the Vietnamese Government for its attention and favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to do business and invest.
The two leaders agreed to increase high-level delegation exchanges and make efforts to further promote trade, investment and educational cooperation, affirming that they will continue to closely coordinate to develop the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership deeper and more comprehensively, actively contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Canada will send a business delegation to Vietnam in 2024
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The two leaders expressed their delight at witnessing the increasingly deep and effective development of the Vietnam - Canada Comprehensive Partnership.
The Canadian Prime Minister expressed his impression of Vietnam's development achievements, stating that the relationship between the two countries, especially in the economic and trade fields, has achieved many positive developments after the two countries signed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Mr. Trudeau said Canada will send a business delegation led by the Minister of Trade to Vietnam in 2024 to explore business and investment opportunities. The Canadian leader affirmed his readiness to support Vietnam in implementing its commitments related to labor and the environment in the CPTPP.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to Canada's role in foreign policy and suggested that the two countries increase the exchange of high-level delegations, especially in 2023, which marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He expressed his wish to welcome Prime Minister Trudeau to visit Vietnam soon.
The Prime Minister also hopes that Canada will create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods to be exported to Canada, promote cooperation in new areas, including digital transformation, green growth, climate change response, science and technology, provide more scholarships for Vietnamese students, and enhance tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination at multilateral forums, including the implementation ofthe ASEAN -Canada Strategic Partnership framework and international commitments related to climate change response.
