
Pleased to meet again with South African Vice President Paul Mashatile, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that during this working trip to South Africa, along with contributing to the success of the G20 Summit chaired by South Africa, the Prime Minister will work with President Cyril Ramaphosa to promote the bilateral relationship to a new height, opening a period of stronger and more substantial development in the bilateral relationship.
The Prime Minister recalled that just one month ago, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa visited Vietnam and the Prime Minister and the President attended the Vietnam - South Africa Business Forum in Hanoi. The South African President said that economy , trade and investment are the new driving force in the relationship between the two countries.
With the viewpoint that the foundation of a solid political relationship requires economic, trade and investment cooperation to enhance independence, self-reliance and rapid and sustainable development of each country, not only with intelligence and strength but also with heart, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam wants to continue to concretize high-level agreements, with specific programs and projects, in the spirit of "what is said must be done, what is committed must be implemented with specific results".

Accordingly, promoting the signing of projects between businesses of the two countries in fields from agriculture, production, processing of rice and coffee to high-quality industries such as electronics, telecommunications, etc., serving both the domestic market of South Africa and export; promoting more projects in the fields of mining, energy development, especially clean energy, aviation cooperation, tourism, people-to-people exchange, etc.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to South Africa for the first time as Prime Minister, South African Vice President Paul Mashatile said that this is a very special time for South Africa, when South Africa is the Chair and hosts the G20 Summit.
Agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's opinion and expressing his joy at witnessing the very good development of the South Africa - Vietnam relationship, the South African Vice President said that the senior leaders, the State and the Government of the two countries have made very high political commitments, and businesses must be the main implementers to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation through specific projects.

The Vice President hopes that, along with strengthening cooperation in mineral exploitation and import, promoting tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange, Vietnam and Vietnamese enterprises need to cooperate, invest and share experiences, and support South Africa in areas where Vietnam has strengths such as mining, energy development, especially offshore wind energy, and low-carbon mineral development.
