Appreciating the strategic vision of China and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping in building the Xiong'an New Area, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he was very happy to be the first foreign leader invited to visit the Xiong'an New Area. He said that Xiong'an solves three basic problems that large cities often face: infrastructure overload, environmental pollution, and lack of housing and living conditions that meet standards for people.
Learning about the site selection, planning work, resource mobilization mechanism, especially non-social resources to serve the construction of Hung An New Area, the Vietnamese Government leader said he was very impressed with the maximum exploitation of underground resources to develop infrastructure and green the Hung An New Area. He said that this is a model that Vietnam needs to refer to in the process of building and developing the country.
"I believe that Xiong'an will be a model in development, contributing to China's successful implementation of the second 100-year goal of building it into a modern, prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist power," said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The Xiong’an New Area is scheduled for completion in 2035. Hebei has a reputation as one of China’s most polluted provinces, with few high-tech value chains in the areas surrounding Xiong’an. Chinese leaders want to eliminate traditional local manufacturing businesses, from shoemaking to clothing to metal recycling, and replace them with more advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies.
The Chinese central government wants Xiong'an to promote the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei corridor, turning the area into an economic hub in northern China.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government paid an official visit to China and attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) from June 25 to June 28. Immediately after visiting Xiong'an New Area, the Prime Minister arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport, boarded a special plane to return home, concluding his four-day working trip in China.
