As a city with a strong advantage in information technology, Da Nang is striving to take another step forward in the digital economy race by promoting Web3, blockchain, and digital assets.

Opening up new opportunities

Within the framework of the Da Nang Venture and Angel Investment Forum - DAVAS 2026, the 3rd Web3 Builders' Summit 2026 is a notable highlight. The conference attracted over 300 Web3 developers (the next generation of the internet, operating based on blockchain technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and peer-to-peer networks), along with 50 speakers and 50 domestic and international partners in Da Nang.

One of the topics that attracted attention at the event was the trend of combining Web3 and AI in technology product development. Mr. Phuc Thai, Development Director of Sky Mavis, argued that the combination of these two technologies can help startups shorten product development time and optimize operating costs by reaching customers faster, building more suitable products, and significantly reducing deployment costs compared to traditional models.

From the perspective of the blockchain development community, Mr. Pham Bao Long, founder of sqrDAO Co., Ltd., a leading Web3 development community and company in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, believes that the current Web3 ecosystem requires simultaneous connection between technology, policies, and capital. Instead of chasing speculative projects, investors are now more interested in products with practical applications, clear operating models, and the ability to adapt to legal regulations. This also presents an opportunity for Da Nang to affirm its role as an attractive destination for technology experts, startups, and international investors when choosing to build products from Vietnam.

“SqrDAO registered its representative office in Da Nang in mid-May, thereby realizing the contents of the memorandum of understanding between sqrDAO and the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center (Department of Science and Technology) to shape the legal framework and create an environment for testing digital assets, Web3 and AI in Central Vietnam,” Mr. Long informed.

Affirming the attractiveness of Da Nang

Following closely behind DAVAS 2026, the Unchained Summit Vietnam conference, organized by Aeternum Consulting (UAE) Ltd. in Da Nang, attracted over 500 delegates.

Sharath Kumar, founder and CEO of Aeternum Consulting Co., Ltd., observes that Vietnam is transitioning from a phase of "getting acquainted" to a phase where policies, capital, and infrastructure are genuinely intersecting.

The Unchained Summit is designed to connect stakeholders at a time when the practical direction of the market is being shaped. In this context, Da Nang is demonstrating a central role in innovation and the development of emerging digital asset policies.

Mr. Vo Duc Anh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center (Department of Science and Technology), believes that the city is seizing breakthrough opportunities from the 4.0 industrial revolution. Da Nang's technological resources are not vast, but they possess the advantage of being highly flexible, adaptable, able to issue policies quickly, and capable of providing the best possible support for investors. Another strength is its ability to build policy frameworks and provide advice from the local level to the central government, including a controlled testing mechanism (sandbox) to support new technologies.

With its strong tourism services and innovative development policies, Da Nang will attract and facilitate the latest ideas, solutions, and business models.

Mr. Le Son Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, shared that Da Nang identifies digital technology, innovation, and the knowledge economy as strategic development drivers for the city in the new phase. In particular, blockchain, Web3, AI, and digital assets are areas with the potential to create entirely new business models, management methods, and economic ecosystems in the future.

“Da Nang City welcomes and is ready to cooperate with investment funds, technology corporations, and international organizations to explore opportunities for collaboration, establish representative offices, open research and development centers, organize training programs, incubate startups, and develop technology human resources in Da Nang; thereby contributing to building a regional innovation and Web3 hub,” Mr. Phong said.
