President Vo Van Thuong congratulated the Bulgarian Ambassador on successfully completing his term in Vietnam with many important contributions to developing the traditional friendship and enhancing multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Marinela Petkova affirmed that Bulgaria always attaches importance to the traditional friendship with Vietnam and wishes to promote multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam. The Ambassador said that during her term of office, she spent time learning and experiencing many good things about the country and people of Vietnam, thereby opening up opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Assessing that bilateral trade relations have grown strongly in recent times, however, President Vo Van Thuong said that the above results are not commensurate with the potential and aspirations of the two countries. The President suggested that the two sides soon hold the 24th Session of the Vietnam - Bulgaria Intergovernmental Committee on Economic , Trade and Scientific Cooperation in 2023; suggested that Bulgaria soon ratify the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), creating conditions for the business community and investors of the EU, Bulgaria and Vietnam to participate more actively in each other's markets. The two sides need to continue to cooperate and support each other at international forums.

Appreciating Bulgaria for creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to live, study and work in Bulgaria, the President suggested that the two sides promote people-to-people exchanges; especially promoting more strongly tourism cooperation activities so that more and more Bulgarian tourists will visit the beautiful country of Vietnam. On this occasion, President Vo Van Thuong thanked Bulgaria for helping Vietnam train many highly qualified officials over the years, thereby actively contributing to tightening the relationship between the two countries.
