Director of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center Nguyen Thanh Quang introduced the exhibition to delegates in France.
Accordingly, implementing the cooperation agreement between the Hanoi People's Committee and the Toulouse City Hall signed on April 15, 2023 and the contents of the Hanoi - Toulouse Cooperation project documents on the preservation and promotion of the values of typical urban heritages and archaeological relics at the World Heritage Site of the Central Area of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long sponsored by the French Development Agency and the Toulouse City Hall; The working delegation of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center had a working program in France from November 13 to 17.
Within the framework of the working trip, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center coordinated with the city of Toulouse to organize a series of activities including: Exhibition "From underground to museum - Journey of artifacts"; coordinated with the French Development Agency to organize a scientific seminar "Promoting the value of archaeological heritage". In particular, the exhibition brings to the public an understanding of the history and similar relationships between the two cities through archaeological relics excavated at the Toulouse archaeological sites and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic site; and the seminar provides solutions and plans to preserve and promote the value of archaeological heritage to serve the restoration and reproduction of architectural heritages, towards the goal of sustainable management of the Heritage site.
In addition to the above activities, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and Toulouse city also conducted a summary and evaluation of the implementation results of the Hanoi - Toulouse Cooperation Project, as a basis for proposing the next cooperation content, and building a project to mobilize funding from the French Development Agency.
Within the framework of the working trip, the Center also has a working program with UNESCO's specialized agencies and the Vietnam Permanent Delegation to UNESCO to continue promoting the progress of building the Scientific Profile of the task of renovating the central area of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi, and the Heritage Impact Assessment Report.
According to Director of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center Nguyen Thanh Quang, the Hanoi - Toulouse Cooperation Project is one of the outstanding cooperation programs in the field of cultural heritage of the city, achieving positive results, contributing to promoting the traditional cooperation relationship of the two cities, and is a typical cooperation model between localities of France and Vietnam. The results of this project are an important premise to open up new opportunities and cooperation paths for the two cities, especially in the field of heritage conservation research and tourism promotion.
