Warmly welcoming Ambassador Vu Trung My, the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, the Board of Directors of the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) and a number of Vietnamese agricultural enterprises to visit and work in Portuguesa state and attend the Páez 2025 International Fair, Mayor Rafael Torrealba affirmed that the visit will contribute to enhancing understanding and promoting connections between Venezuelan localities, including Páez city and Portuguesa state, with localities of Vietnam.

Mayor Rafael Torrealba expressed his delight at the continued good development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam, which was built by the late President Hugo Chavez and Vietnamese leaders over time.

Mr. Rafael Torrealba personally always has special feelings and deep admiration for the great President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic Vietnamese people; admires the great achievements in socio-economic development of Vietnam, especially in the field of agriculture.

Next, working with Ambassador Vu Trung My, Deputy Governor in charge of economic development, Vicente Boscan said, Portuguesa is the leading locality in the country in agricultural production, considered the "rice granary of Venezuela" with rice production accounting for 65%.

Besides, Portuguesa also leads the country in the production of some agricultural products such as corn 52%, sugarcane 55%, sesame 95% and sunflower 72%.

Deputy Governor Vicente Boscan said that in implementing the policy of diversifying the economy and gradually reducing dependence on the oil and gas industry, Venezuela, of which Portuguesa state is one of the leading localities, has recently paid special attention to agricultural development, considering it one of the top priorities; emphasizing that Venezuela considers Vietnam a successful model in the agricultural sector and wishes to learn and cooperate to make agriculture an important economic pillar.

The Portuguesa state government wishes to promote agricultural cooperation with Vietnamese localities, welcomes and is ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors in implementing cooperation projects.

Ambassador Vu Trung My talks with Venezuelan businesses interested in Vietnamese agricultural products.

Speaking at meetings, working sessions and answering local press, Ambassador Vu Trung My warmly congratulated the success of the Páez International Fair 2025. The second time it was held with the participation of nearly 200 domestic and international enterprises, showing the interest of enterprises in the Fair.

Ambassador Vu Trung My gave an overview of Vietnam's situation, socio-economic development, international integration, achievements during the renovation period, as well as Vietnam's international economic relations; economic-trade relations and cooperation potentials between Vietnam and Venezuela.

Emphasizing the role and responsibility of the Vietnamese Representative Office in Venezuela in supporting sectors, localities and enterprises in the spirit of taking people, localities and enterprises as the center of service, Ambassador Vu Trung My affirmed that he will make every effort to act as a bridge and promote economic and trade relations between the two countries, especially in the field of agriculture where Vietnam has strengths with Portuguesa state, as well as other localities of Venezuela on the basis of the potential and strengths of the parties.

Within the framework of the working visit to Paez city, Portuguesa state and attending the PÁEZ 2025 International Fair, the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela coordinated with the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) to organize meetings and discussions with businesses in Portuguesa state; introduce and promote some typical agricultural products of Vietnam at the PÁEZ 2025 International Fair such as rice, coffee, cashew, cinnamon, tea, etc.
