On the morning of August 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board on the results of task implementation in the first 6 months of 2024 and the periodic renovation work of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in 2024.
Also attending the meeting were leaders of the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Finance, Construction, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Home Affairs, Justice, Information and Communications; Government Office , Hanoi People's Committee.
At the working session, reporting to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Major General Pham Hai Trung, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command, Head of the Mausoleum Management Board, said that in the first 6 months of 2024, the Mausoleum Management Board has performed well its advisory function to the Party, State, Prime Minister, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on the task of long-term preservation and absolute safety protection of President Ho Chi Minh's body.
Effective coordination with domestic units such as Factory Z175/General Department of Defense Industry and Moscow Biomedical Research Center, constantly improving skills and techniques to master the task of ensuring the absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh's body. Successfully mixed the special solution BX-24 with the support of Russian experts to serve the task of making major medicine.
In the spirit of "overcoming sun, rain, not losing to cold, overcoming storms", well-organized forces carry out tasks with high responsibility continuously, non-stop 24/7 to manage, operate, maintain and repair architectural works and equipment systems; preserve the landscape and environment in a spacious and clean manner; ensure absolute security and safety for the Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs and K9 area; organize to welcome and serve a large number of compatriots and international visitors to visit Uncle Ho. In the past year, we have welcomed over 4.6 million visitors, an increase of 13% over the previous year; of which international visitors were nearly 1.9 million, an increase of 83%.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum has become a “beloved” red address, a “cultural meeting place” in the hearts of compatriots across the country and international friends. Many generations of Vietnamese families across the country, especially students, visit Uncle Ho every day, respectfully remembering and expressing gratitude for his great contributions.
After listening to the opinions and conclusions at the working session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that for the Vietnamese people, beloved President Ho Chi Minh is a National Liberation Hero, a World Cultural Celebrity, a genius Leader, a great Teacher of the Vietnamese Revolution. He symbolizes the cultural quintessence of the Vietnamese people, the most beautiful values of the Vietnamese soul, personality, will, and mettle; is a shining example of revolutionary morality; is a beautiful image of the close relationship between the leader and the people. In the eyes of international friends, President Ho Chi Minh is an outstanding communist soldier, a comrade, and a close friend.
With infinite love and eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho, our Party, State and people always determine that preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh is a particularly important and glorious political task, of great significance to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Through the Report, the Prime Minister expressed his joy that in the past time, despite many difficulties and challenges, the leadership, officers and soldiers of the Mausoleum Management Board have been united, proactive in overcoming difficulties, focusing on completing many assigned tasks, especially in ensuring that President Ho Chi Minh's body continues to be preserved in the best condition.
On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated the efforts, sense of responsibility and achievements of the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees, soldiers and workers of the Mausoleum Management Board and agencies, units and individuals performing tasks in the Ba Dinh Historical - Cultural Relic Complex.
In addition, the Prime Minister pointed out the shortcomings and limitations, emphasizing that the organization of the visit of people and international visitors to Uncle Ho has not had many innovations in general; digital transformation and application of information technology have not been promoted. Information and communication mainly rely on traditional methods; there are not many new, creative forms and on cyberspace...
The Prime Minister emphasized that the relics and works related to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh are shining symbols, illuminating many generations of Vietnamese people today and tomorrow; the Prime Minister requested the Management Board to continue to promote the glorious tradition, sense of responsibility before the Party, State and People, constantly improve capacity to best perform the task of preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh in all conditions.
Especially in the coming time, our country will have many important national events such as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024); 80 years of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025)... The Mausoleum Management Board needs to continue to promote the glorious tradition of the unit, the sense of responsibility before the Party, the State and the People, and constantly improve its capacity to best perform the task of preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh in all conditions.
It is necessary to be proactive, make efforts and further promote the spirit of creativity and innovation to turn Ba Dinh Square and the relics related to President Ho Chi Minh and the Martyrs' Memorial into places for cultural and political activities and towards becoming a place to "return to one's roots" for every Vietnamese person when coming to Hanoi and to Uncle Ho.
The Prime Minister requested that it is necessary to proactively grasp the situation, promptly detect and coordinate to handle possible situations well with the motto of early detection and remote resolution; be on duty, heighten vigilance, and be ready to fight in all circumstances; organize good and thoughtful service for the visits of compatriots and international guests; the ceremonies to pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh, and commemorate heroic martyrs at the State level by Party and State leaders and delegations of heads of state and high-ranking leaders of countries.
Always uphold the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement; promote internal strength and be proactive and creative in performing tasks. Apply scientific and technological advances in research on embalming and preservation. Promote cooperation in scientific research and experiments, striving to fully master and successfully complete the task of preserving Uncle Ho's body in a long-term and absolutely safe manner by 2030.
Continue to promote political and ideological education so that cadres, soldiers and workers of the units can work with peace of mind, be absolutely loyal, committed and carry out special political tasks with all their heart, courage and intelligence; truly be exemplary models in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; Strengthen the effectiveness of coordination between units and localities in the area to ensure closer and more harmonious coordination.
The Prime Minister requested that the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People's Committee proactively and actively coordinate smoothly and synchronously to best promote the historical and cultural values of the relics in the Ba Dinh Historical and Cultural Relic Complex.
The Prime Minister emphasized that periodic reports on restoration work must clearly show the contents of reports from agencies and units assigned to manage works and relics in the area. Inspections of the restoration work of the mausoleum in the following years will also include inspections of the implementation of tasks on preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and promotion of the values of relics: President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ba Dinh Special Administrative-Political Zone; promoting digital transformation in all activities, first of all in ticket sales, organizing receptions for tourists and people; and increasing the application of new communication methods.
The Prime Minister emphasized that long-term preservation and absolute safety protection of the body of the great President Ho Chi Minh and promotion of the noble political, cultural and humanistic significance of the Mausoleum are particularly important political tasks, of great significance to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
The Prime Minister hopes and believes that the Mausoleum Management Board will continue to promote its traditions and achievements, make more efforts to better fulfill its assigned tasks with the spirit of "If you have done well, you must do even better"; "If you are determined, you must be even more determined; if you have made an effort, you must make even more effort; if you have tried, you must try even harder; clearly define the tasks, people, work, products, and results; if you have done well, you must do it even more effectively" so that "the results next year must be better than the previous year"; excellently fulfill the important tasks entrusted to you by the Party, the State, and the people.
Before the working session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of ministries and the Mausoleum Management Board inspected the periodic restoration work of President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
