In recent days, several Facebook channels and blogs have reported on a “YouTube announcement” regarding an important change in the monetization policy of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). This change promises to “clean up” the platform and improve content quality.

According to information cited by websites and blogs, from July 15, YouTube will take a tougher stance on videos that use artificial voices or automated production without significant human creative input. Channels that are “faceless” (without human presence) or use AI to read voiceovers, insert images/automatic editing… are at high risk of having their advertising money withdrawn.

Responding to VietNamNet , a Google Vietnam media representative shared: from July 15, YouTube will update its guidelines to more accurately identify mass-produced and repetitive content – often considered “spam” by viewers.

Accordingly, this type of content has long been excluded from monetization through YPP. YouTube often updates along with the changes in content on the platform over time. The company's concern lies in whether this type of content is repetitive, low-quality, and inauthentic. YouTube has always encouraged creators to use AI tools to enhance and enrich their storytelling capabilities.

So YouTube will still pay for AI-generated content, but creators should avoid mass-produced, repetitive content. Creators should use AI responsibly to tell deeper, more meaningful stories.

To make money on YouTube, channels must comply with the Monetization Policy, as well as the Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, Copyright Policy, and Permissions Adjustments Policy. YouTube makes it clear that content must be original and authentic. Reviewers will review your channel and content against YouTube’s policies, focusing on the main topic, videos with the most views, new videos, videos with the most watch time, video metadata, the channel’s “about” section, and more.

Previously, on July 3, Google officially launched the Veo 3 video creation AI tool in the Vietnamese market.

Surprised by the number of YouTube channels achieving the gold button in Vietnam The number of YouTube channels achieving the gold button in Vietnam continues to increase, while the number of channels with revenue of more than 100 million VND per year also grows strongly, creating the premise for video commerce to develop.
