Rent costumes - Dress well, save money.

Instead of spending money on expensive clothes that they'll only wear once, many young people choose to rent outfits as a way to dress stylishly while saving money. This trend is not only fashionable but also reflects a conscious consumer lifestyle.

Instead of spending money buying dresses and outfits only suitable for parties or photoshoots, renting is a convenient and economical solution.

Having run a costume rental business for nearly two years, Nguyen Thi To Anh, owner of Mami Kute fashion store (Long An ward, Tay Ninh province), said: “Previously, customers mainly rented ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), wedding dresses, or stage performance costumes, but now, customer needs have become more diverse. Many people rent clothes for parties, travel, commemorative photos, etc. The busiest times are during the summer, holidays, and especially wedding season.”

Driven by her passion for fashion and frequently receiving questions from friends asking "where do you buy your clothes?" whenever she posts photos on social media, Ms. Anh came up with the idea of opening a clothing rental service. Currently, her shop boasts over 100 diverse dress and top designs, all designer pieces made from structured fabrics that flatter the figure.

"I usually prioritize basic, easy-to-match colors like red, white, and black, combined with elegant designs that suit many body types. I frequently sell off old items and update with new ones to keep up with trends," Ms. Anh shared.

In addition, because the costumes are for rent, she always pays close attention to hygiene and laundry. Each outfit is thoroughly inspected after use to ensure it is clean and ready for the next customer. Depending on the original price of the product and the rental period, the rental price ranges from 100,000 to 200,000 VND per outfit; accessories such as hair clips, handbags, and shoes cost from a few tens of thousands of VND per item.

Often choosing to rent clothes instead of buying new ones, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen Tran (27 years old, residing in My Loc commune) shared: “Previously, every time there was a party or special event, I had to struggle to choose clothes, and sometimes I would buy something and wear it only once before putting it away in the closet because it wasn't suitable to use again. Since I learned about the costume rental service, I just need to choose a design, try it on, and rent it, saving both time and money.”

With rental prices only a fraction of the cost of buying new, many people consider renting costumes a sensible option when careful budgeting is necessary. Not only for special occasions like weddings and events, many people also choose to rent costumes for photoshoots and travel . According to Ms. Phan Yen Nhi (28 years old, residing in Tan Long commune), renting clothes is linked to her hobbies of photography and travel.

"Every time I go out, I want to refresh my look with fashionable outfits, but buying lots of clothes to change styles is expensive and I rarely use them. Renting clothes allows me to freely show off my style without worrying about wasting money," said Nhi.

Renting clothes not only saves money but also offers flexibility in refreshing personal style. Instead of spending a large sum on rarely used outfits, renting becomes a sensible solution, especially for those who love fashion but still want to spend wisely. This is also a choice that contributes to promoting sustainable consumption trends in modern society.
