The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council surveyed the activities of the People's Council and the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of communes and wards.

On the afternoon of October 9, at Long Xuyen ward, Working Group No. 2 of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Council, headed by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Giang Van Phuc, surveyed and worked with the People's Councils of Long Xuyen, Binh Duc, My Thoi wards and My Hoa Hung commune on the activities of the People's Council and the Standing Committee of the People's Council from July 1, 2025 to present.

According to the report of the delegation, since July 1, after operating the two-level local government model, communes and wards have urgently completed the organization and apparatus of the People's Council in accordance with the law. The activities of the Standing Committee, two committees, delegations and People's Council delegates have continued to be improved in the direction of innovation, responsibility and efficiency. The Standing Committee of the People's Council has performed well the task of directing, monitoring and urging the implementation of the Resolutions of the People's Councils of wards and communes, especially the Resolution on socio -economic development; local budget revenue and expenditure and issues of concern to voters.

However, localities still face difficulties and obstacles, such as: degraded working headquarters and facilities; limited operating budget affecting the activities of the People's Council; slow synthesis, reporting, and conveying of voters' opinions to the Provincial People's Council; limited skills in supervision, application of information technology in activities and skills in handling situations at the grassroots level of ward and commune People's Council delegates...

Through the survey, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Giang Van Phuc acknowledged and commended the achievements of the People's Council and the Standing Committee of the People's Councils of the wards after more than 3 months of operating the two-level local government model.

In the coming time, it is recommended that localities continue to do a good job in ideological work, build solidarity, and share difficulties in performing tasks; pay attention to preparing well for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; focus on resolutely completing the targets and tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security according to the Resolution of the People's Council in 2025.
