An Giang signed an agreement with Takeo province on searching for and collecting martyrs' remains.

On the afternoon of October 9, at the Office of the Takeo Provincial City Hall (Kingdom of Cambodia), Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the An Giang Provincial Task Force Le Trung Ho and Mr. Sut Khon - Deputy Governor, Head of the Takeo Provincial Task Force co-chaired the signing ceremony of cooperation in searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the wars in Cambodia, period XXV (dry season 2025 - 2026); at the same time, handing over funding from the Vietnamese Government to support the Takeo Provincial Task Force.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Specialized Committee of An Giang Province Le Trung Ho and Mr. Sut Khon - Deputy Governor, Head of the Provincial Specialized Committee of Takeo Province signed the cooperation memorandum.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sut Khon - Deputy Governor, Head of the Takeo Provincial Specialized Committee happily welcomed the delegation of An Giang province to the signing ceremony. At the same time, he highly appreciated the cooperation between Takeo and An Giang provinces in searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia in Takeo province, achieving many results.

The two heads of delegations presided over the signing ceremony and presented gifts, demonstrating solidarity and cooperation.

Mr. Sut Khon said that the Takeo Provincial Task Force will continue to increase support for An Giang province in searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia, contributing to sharing the pain and loss of the families of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts.

Mr. Sut Khon expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and People of Vietnam for helping Cambodia during the war; wishing the friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam in general, and Takeo - An Giang in particular, to be increasingly sustainable and strengthened.

Authorized by the Government of Vietnam's Task Force, the Political Commissar of An Giang Provincial Military Command awarded funding to support the Takeo Provincial Task Force.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho shared that the search, collection and repatriation of martyrs' remains has a very profound meaning, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" and "remembering the person who planted the tree when eating the fruit". This noble gesture contributes to easing the pain of martyrs' relatives...

Since the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of Vietnam and the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia signed on August 28, 2000, in the capital Phnom Penh, two teams searching for and collecting martyrs' remains of An Giang province have searched for and collected 4,286 martyrs' remains in 6 provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

In Takeo province alone, Team K93 of the An Giang Provincial Military Command searched for and collected 834 martyrs' remains, of which 15 martyrs' remains were collected in the 2024 - 2025 dry season.

An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism presented gifts to Takeo Province.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province expressed his gratitude for the close coordination and assistance of leaders at all levels, authorities, the Specialized Committee, the armed forces and the People of Takeo province in collecting, providing information, guiding, protecting and assisting the search team and collecting the remains of martyrs. Although great efforts have been made in coordinating the search, collection and repatriation of the remains of martyrs, many remains of martyrs have not been found yet.

An Giang province hopes that the Party leaders, government, Specialized Committee and people of Takeo province will continue to pay attention, direct, coordinate, support and create favorable conditions for Team K93 to continue its mission of searching and collecting the remains of martyrs who died in the province to achieve the best results.

Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho wished the solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia in general, and the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between An Giang and Takeo provinces to be forever green and sustainable.
