The Prime Minister has just signed a decision appointing Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Commander of the Border Guard, as Deputy Minister of National Defense.

The Prime Minister has just signed a decision appointing Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, member of the Central Committee of the Party and Commander of the Border Guard, to the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense .

Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, 58 years old, hails from Quang Ninh province; he holds a bachelor's degree in border defense. He is a member of the Central Committee of the 13th Party Congress.

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Thai served as Commander of the Border Guard Force and Chief of the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh province.

This morning, November 4th, Deputy Minister Le Duc Thai was promoted from Lieutenant General to General by President Luong Cuong.
