The Swedish Foreign Ministry announced on April 25 that it was expelling five Russian diplomats for "inappropriate activities."

The Swedish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it had summoned the Russian Ambassador to Sweden to inform them of the decision, requiring five Russian embassy staff to leave Sweden due to activities inconsistent with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Last April, Sweden also expelled three Russian diplomats after conflict broke out in Ukraine.

According to TASS news agency, in response to Stockholm's new move, the Russian Foreign Ministry immediately issued a statement that it would take appropriate measures to respond to this decision.

At the end of March, German magazine Focus cited sources in the German Foreign Ministry as saying that Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock planned to expel more than 30 Russian diplomats in Berlin.

However, a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry later did not confirm this information.

On April 13, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry announced that 15 employees of the Russian Embassy in Oslo were persona non grata in Norway and must leave the country immediately.

Russia's TASS news agency quoted the Norwegian Foreign Ministry as saying that the Russian Embassy staff had conducted intelligence activities under diplomatic cover.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt said the 15 Russian Embassy staff were expelled for carrying out "activities incompatible with diplomatic status."

The Norwegian Foreign Minister made it clear that the country's authorities will not issue visas to Russians suspected of collaborating with Russian special services./.
