In the May 2025 training session, U22 Vietnam continues to welcome the appearance of an overseas Vietnamese player. This time, the name called up is Alex Bui. This is a completely new face of U22 Vietnam and fans do not have much information about this player.
Before the time of the Vietnam U22 team gathering, Alex Bui played 16/27 matches in the Czech Republic Second Division for Bohemians Praha 1905. This is also the team that trained two other overseas Vietnamese players who returned to their homeland: Patrik Le Giang (HCMC) and Tony Le Tuan Anh - who used to play for PVF-CAND but did not leave an impression.
Alex Bui was born on November 15, 2005. He started his football career from the youth team of FK Meteor Praha when he was only 10 years old. Over the past 8 years, Alex Bui has experienced many youth teams of Bohemians Praha 1905.
Alex Bui is 1m78 tall, playing in the positions of attacking midfielder, winger and striker. This player is considered to have good technique, speed, ball control and passing ability, and effective finishing with both feet. This season, Alex Bui scored 2 goals and had 2 passes for teammates to score. He will be promoted to the first team of Bohemians Praha if he maintains good form.
Through rare videos on social networks, Alex Bui plays football with more technique than strength. In addition, the matches that Alex Bui participates in are all at the youth level or lower leagues of the Czech Republic. Therefore, he needs to be tested in more harsh and difficult arenas.
But at the moment, a versatile, well-trained player who can play as a striker is like "pure gold" to coach Kim Sang-sik. The question is whether that player can demonstrate the ability that is commensurate with what is observed on video.
The Vietnam Football Federation's homepage commented: "The addition of a new factor like Bui Alex will help increase the depth of the team, while affirming the proactive integration strategy and finding quality overseas Vietnamese players for Vietnamese football."
According to the plan, U22 Vietnam will continue to maintain training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to strengthen the playing style, complete the squad, and prepare for important upcoming goals. This is also the plan that VFF has implemented very early for the U22 Vietnam team, synchronized with the national team during the FIFA Days.
