Tien Giang has 5 ornamental plant products achieving OCOP

(ABO) On August 1, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 919/QD-TTg approving the One Commune One Product Program - OCOP for the period 2021 - 2025; in which, ornamental plants, specifically flowers, ornamental plants, and ornamental animals, are identified as 1 of 6 product groups considered for recognition as OCOP products.

Monkey face water fern is one of the 5 ornamental plant products that meet OCOP standards.

Accordingly, Tien Giang has 5 ornamental products achieving 3-star OCOP including: Yellow apricot tree of Tien Phat Cooperative, Cho Gao district; tissue-cultured orchid tree of Ms. Bui Thi Kim Thanh, Cho Gao district; monkey-faced mai nu chieu thuy of artisan Tam Binh, Go Cong Tay district and 2 products: Pink linh sam tree and sam huong tree of business household Le Tan Thanh Binh, Cho Gao district.

Chairman of the Provincial Ornamental Plants Association Pham Van Chinh said: According to Decree No. 52/2018/ND-CP of the Government on rural industry development, there is an ornamental plant production and trading profession. For the first time, the Party and the State recognized ornamental plant production and trading as a rural industry. Therefore, the Provincial Ornamental Plants Association has a long-term development orientation. Currently, many gardeners, artisans, and farmers are converting crop structures or intercropping ornamental plants to generate more income. In particular, focusing on developing, guiding, and training ornamental plant lovers to know about techniques and shaping to create beautiful works that meet OCOP standards, contributing to improving the spiritual and material life of the people.
