According to Tasnim , three explosions were reported in the city of Bandar Abbas.

The Fars news agency reported that similar sounds were heard near Sirik and Jask, close to the Strait of Hormuz.

The Mehr news agency later stated that the situation in Bandar Abbas was under control and there was no reason to worry.

However, Fox News , citing a military spokesperson, reported that US forces conducted the attacks in "self-defense" in southern Iran.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in a statement that its forces conducted attacks targeting objectives including ships attempting to lay mines and missile launch sites.

According to CENTCOM, the attack was carried out to "protect U.S. troops from threats from Iranian forces."
