Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam He Wei, on behalf of the Chinese people, sent sincere condolences to the people affected by Typhoon No. 3 in Vietnam and also sent condolences to the families of the victims who died in the recent floods.
“The Party, Government and people of China are paying close attention to and following the flood situation caused by Typhoon No. 3 ( YAGI ) in Vietnam. The Red Cross Society of China has decided to donate 100,000 USD to provide emergency aid to help people in the disaster-hit areas of Vietnam overcome the consequences,” Ambassador Ha Vi shared.

President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Bui Thi Hoa shared that the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Chinese Red Cross Society have had a long and effective cooperation process. The Vietnam Red Cross Society continues to promote the cooperative relationship between the two societies at the national level and in the provinces sharing the same border. Activities include: focusing on enhancing exchanges, sharing experiences, and supporting each other in the fields of: health care, social work, disaster prevention and response, livelihood, youth/Red Cross volunteer exchanges, etc.
Up to now, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross has deployed emergency relief in cash and goods worth nearly VND10 billion to support more than 10,300 households, equivalent to more than 41,500 beneficiaries in 15 provinces and cities affected by storm No. 3 and its aftermath. Specifically, VND3.25 billion, 3,200 boxes of household goods, 3,300 bags of emergency relief goods and 100 home repair kits have been supported.
Since launching the Community Fundraising Campaign "Together with the Northern people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3" (September 7), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has received 16 billion VND in donations.
Of which, support through the 2022 charity account of the Vietnam Red Cross Society received more than 21,000 donations from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals, with the contribution amount reaching more than 10 billion VND.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has issued an “Urgent Appeal” to help Vietnamese people affected by Typhoon No. 3 and its aftermath, with an estimated budget of 4 million Swiss Francs. Currently, a number of domestic and international organizations, businesses and individuals are discussing with the Central Committee of the Federation to implement projects and non-refundable aid to overcome the consequences of natural disasters./.
