The above wild animal was accidentally discovered by Mr. Ho Dac Minh Quang in Thuy Thanh commune (Huong Thuy town) on the road, in normal health condition. Realizing that this is a rare and precious animal, Mr. Quang captured it and reported it to the forest rangers via hotline with the wish to hand it over for release into the natural environment.
On the night of September 9, Huong Thuy Town Forest Protection Department sent forces directly to the scene to receive this animal, at the same time take care of it and complete legal procedures to release it back into the wild as soon as possible.
According to the provincial Forest Protection Department, the pangolin belongs to group IB forest animals, which are endangered, precious, and rare forest animals that are threatened, at risk of extinction, and banned from exploitation and use for commercial purposes.
Previously, Hue City Forest Protection Department also received a rare Central Vietnam yellow-fronted box turtle from Mr. Dang Hoai Phuong in Kim Long ward ( Hue City).
