Presenting gifts and support to disadvantaged households in An Cuu ward during the launching ceremony of the "Humanitarian Month" in 2026.

Following the plan of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Hue City Red Cross Society, the 2026 Humanitarian Month will be implemented in May, aiming to mobilize social resources to provide more practical care for the poor, the vulnerable, and those in disadvantaged circumstances in the community.

According to the plan, during this peak month, the Hue City Red Cross Society aims to support thousands of people in difficult circumstances; and at the same time, mobilize social resources from 3 to 5 billion VND to implement humanitarian activities. Along with that, they will commence construction of humanitarian projects such as Red Cross houses, public works projects, and receive approximately 2,000 units of blood from the voluntary blood donation movement.

Alongside this, many meaningful activities will be implemented, such as "Humanitarian Day," voluntary blood donation programs, fundraising for humanitarian funds, distributing thousands of gifts to support disadvantaged households, as well as implementing livelihood programs, building and repairing houses for people. All are aimed at a common goal: ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey of development.

At the launch ceremony of the 2026 Humanitarian Month, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, acknowledged the positive results achieved by the Hue City Red Cross Society in the past period. He emphasized the need to continue promoting the Society's bridging role in humanitarian work, while also strengthening social mobilization and attracting more resources from the community to spread the spirit of compassion.

Amidst the city's overall development, there are still areas of hardship and struggle for survival. These include impoverished households, elderly people living alone, people with disabilities, impoverished patients, and families affected by natural disasters and epidemics. For them, even small acts of support can become a springboard to move forward.

Humanitarian Month is therefore not just a campaign, but also a bridge of human compassion, where sharing is transformed into concrete, practical, and timely actions.

Right from the launch ceremony, these acts of kindness spread far and wide. The city's Red Cross Society presented 20 gift packages to poor and disadvantaged households in An Cuu ward; and also provided livelihood support to 10 families with a total value of 50 million VND, helping them to have better conditions to stabilize their lives.

In addition, the program also acknowledged the contributions of agencies, units, and businesses with a total funding of 120 million VND for the "Pieces of Loving Homes" project, along with resources supporting the construction of 3 Red Cross houses sponsored by the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society for the localities of Huong Thuy, Phong Quang, and Thuan An.

Looking back over the past year, the Hue City Red Cross Society has implemented many practical humanitarian activities. Notable examples include the movement to build charitable houses and the campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian cause," through which it has supported 1,151 addresses with over 1.1 billion VND.

During the 2025 Humanitarian Month, themed "Humanitarian Journey - Giving and Receiving Love," the Association raised 3.5 billion VND to support over 9,000 people in difficult circumstances. Simultaneously, it received emergency international aid, providing timely assistance to 215 households in Dan Dien and Quang Dien communes affected by natural disasters, with a total budget of 645 million VND.

Through these specific programs, the humanitarian journey of the Humanitarian Month is not just about numbers or plans, but is gradually becoming a persistent flow of human kindness, quiet yet profound, simple yet far-reaching.
