Reporting to the delegation, Captain Nguyen Thanh Khiem, commander of the DK1/8 offshore platform, stated that the unit always strives to overcome harsh weather conditions and rough seas to complete its mission. The visit helped the delegates better understand the hardships and silent sacrifices of the forces serving at the forefront of the waves, thereby fostering love for the sea and islands and a sense of protecting national sovereignty .

Rear Admiral Le Ba Quan, Deputy Commander of the Navy and Head of Task Force No. 12, lit incense at the memorial ceremony.

The offerings were released into the sea as a tribute from today's generation to the souls of the heroes and martyrs.

During the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council, shared: "This trip has helped us to understand even more deeply the difficulties, hardships, and also the glory that the officers and soldiers of the DK1/8 platform face. The natural conditions in this area are complex, with strong monsoon winds, large waves, and at times storms and rough seas... the terrain mainly consists of submerged reefs... Especially at the DK1 platform in the Que Duong reef area, working in conditions of strong sea swells is a huge challenge, but the soldiers still overcome everything, remain steadfast in their will, and resolutely complete the assigned tasks excellently."
