Continue to overcome flooding in Ha Hoa

After more than a week of being affected by storm No. 3, as of September 17, in Ha Hoa district, the water level on Thao river is below alert level I. In the whole district, only Hien Luong commune has 6 flooded areas with 55 households and 182 people isolated.

The reason for the slow receding water is the low-lying location of the flooded area, the limited drainage system in the commune, and the slow drainage of water, mainly through the Ngoi My drainage canal. The District People's Committee directed the commune to concentrate human and material resources to provide sufficient food, drinking water, and essential supplies to ensure the livelihoods of people in the flooded areas.

In areas where floodwaters have receded, 4,256 out of 4,311 households have returned to their homes, but localized flooding still occurs in many areas. At flooded locations, the district has mobilized over 10 mobile pumps operating at full capacity; opened all 56 sluice gates under the dike and operated drainage pumping stations such as Ngoi Trang, Cau Den, Yen Luat... to drain water and prevent flooding.

Continuing the work of overcoming the consequences and restoring production after natural disasters, the People's Committee of Ha Hoa district has established 3 teams to verify damage, direct remediation efforts, and guide the restoration of production after natural disasters. Their nhiệm vụ is to directly go to the grassroots level to inspect and verify damage, ensuring compliance with the regulations in Government Decree No. 02/2017/ND-CP dated January 9, 2017, on mechanisms and policies to support agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics.

Directing and guiding communes and towns in implementing disinfection, sterilization, disease prevention and control measures, and restoring livestock populations... to minimize disease spread and environmental pollution. Simultaneously, the teams will develop technical procedures and select suitable crop varieties for late winter crop production to guide communes and towns in ensuring efficient production.
